Green Card Devops Lead Jobs
DevOps Lead roles qualify for green card sponsorship under EB-2 for advanced-degree professionals and EB-3 for skilled practitioners with a bachelor's degree. Employers file a PERM labor certification with DOL before petitioning USCIS via I-140, permanently tying your authorization to a specific role rather than a renewable visa.

AI-First DevOps Engineer (Senior)
12 Months Contract
Mountain View, CA- Onsite
The Development Efficiencies pillar owns the paved roads, PDLC velocity, and self-serve tooling behind Intuit's 8x developer velocity gain, built on Modern SaaS AIR AI-native dev platform on Kubernetes, Argo, Istio, Envoy, and AWS. Intuit is an active CNCF/Argo contributor; this role works on the same stack upstream.
The Problem This Role Exists to Solve
Development is AI-accelerated; delivery must keep pace. Every human-gated step in CI/CD, environments, and release process erodes the 8x gain. This role makes the delivery pipeline itself AI-first: paved-road pipelines where agents diagnose failures, triage PRs, provision environments, and automate release toil — directly serving the FY26 Reduced Human Effort and PR Merge Velocity KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and extend paved-road CI/CD: pipeline templates, golden paths, and policy-as-code gates that product teams adopt self-serve — no tickets, no mandates.
- Build Argo-based GitOps delivery (CD / Workflows / Rollouts): progressive delivery pipelines including the paved road for shipping AI agents to production the way teams ship microservices — AI Model Deployment Events/Time is a tracked KPI.
- Build agentic delivery automation into the pipeline: failure-diagnosis agents, PR triage and review-assist agents, environment provisioning automation, change summarization — measured against FY26 Reduced Human Effort.
- Extend developer inner-loop tooling: cloud workspaces, fast local-to-cluster iteration.
- Instrument delivery: PR merge velocity, AI-assisted code share, and DORA-style flow metrics feeding org KPIs.
- Harden the supply chain on the paved road: signing, provenance, SBOM as pipeline defaults.
- Seam with SRE: you build the rollout pipeline; SRE owns canary analysis and rollback gates — you integrate their gates, not define them.
- Production support for delivery tooling; self-serve docs and inner-source contributions (tracked PDX metric).
Must-Have Qualifications
- 7+ years DevOps/release/platform engineering; has designed enterprise CI/CD systems, not just operated them.
- Production depth in Argo (CD, Workflows, Rollouts) and the GitOps operating model; Kubernetes + AWS at scale.
- IaC (Terraform or equivalent) and policy-as-code (OPA / Kyverno or equivalent) in production.
- Strong Go or Python — delivery tooling built as products, with tests and observability.
- Hands-on agentic/LLM automation applied to the SDLC: has shipped agents or LLM-powered bots into a delivery flow — pipeline triage, review assist, automated remediation — not just personal Copilot use.
- Fluent AI-assisted development workflow — AI-assisted code in PRs is a tracked Intuit KPI.
Nice-to-Have
- SLSA / supply-chain security depth; Backstage or internal developer platform (IDP) experience.
- Ephemeral / preview environment platforms at scale; FinOps.
- MCP tool integrations; CNCF or other open-source contributions.

Document your infrastructure scope before applying
PERM labor certification requires your employer to define the job duties precisely. Compile evidence of the systems you've owned, team size, and cloud platforms managed so your resume aligns with the certified job description from day one.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Companies that have filed PERM applications for DevOps or infrastructure roles before already know the process. Search DOL OFLC disclosure data to identify employers sponsoring these roles and prioritize your outreach accordingly.
Search green card sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters DevOps Lead jobs by employers with verified green card sponsorship history, so you're not guessing which companies will actually file. Run your search there before applying broadly.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility with your employer
If the role requires only a bachelor's degree, your employer may file EB-3, which has a lower PWD wage floor. An advanced degree or equivalent experience can support EB-2, which often moves faster for certain nationalities due to priority date backlogs.
Confirm the prevailing wage tier before negotiating salary
PERM locks your employer into paying at least the certified prevailing wage. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the Level I through Level IV wage for your SOC code and metro area before entering salary discussions.
Understand concurrent filing if your priority date is current
Once USCIS approves your I-140, you may file I-485 adjustment of status concurrently if a visa number is immediately available. For EB-3 applicants from countries with backlogs, tracking the monthly Visa Bulletin with USCIS is essential for timing this step.
Green Card Devops Lead: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a DevOps Lead role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
It depends on how the employer defines the minimum job requirements. If the position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, it typically qualifies for EB-3 as a professional role. If it requires a master's degree or your credentials demonstrate an advanced degree equivalent, EB-2 may apply. Your employer's PERM attorney determines the category based on the actual job duties.
How is green card sponsorship different from H-1B sponsorship for a DevOps Lead?
H-1B visa is a temporary nonimmigrant status tied to annual cap lotteries and three-year renewal cycles. PERM-based green card sponsorship is permanent, has no annual lottery, and results in lawful permanent residency. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification alone can take six to eighteen months before USCIS even begins adjudicating the I-140, and priority date backlogs can add years for applicants from high-demand countries.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for a DevOps Lead employer?
Your employer must conduct a supervised recruitment campaign, advertise the role publicly, and document that no minimally qualified U.S. workers applied. DOL reviews the application and, if certified, issues the approved ETA 9089. This certified application becomes the foundation for your I-140 immigrant petition. The entire PERM stage typically runs six to eighteen months depending on DOL workload and whether an audit is triggered.
Where can I find DevOps Lead jobs where employers are already open to green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. It surfaces DevOps Lead listings from employers with verified green card sponsorship history, so you can filter out roles where sponsorship is unlikely before spending time applying. This is especially useful if you're targeting companies that have filed PERM applications for similar infrastructure or engineering roles in the past.
Can I change employers after my I-140 is approved without losing my priority date?
Yes, in most circumstances. Under AC21 portability provisions, once your I-140 has been approved for 180 days and your I-485 is pending, you can move to a same or similar occupational role without restarting the green card process. DevOps Lead roles typically port to similar infrastructure or engineering management positions. You retain your original priority date, which matters significantly if you're waiting on a visa backlog.
