Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Enterprise Architect
Align your credentials to EB-2 requirements
Enterprise Architect roles commonly qualify under EB-2 when the position requires an advanced degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. A master's degree or a bachelor's plus five years of progressive experience strengthens your petition significantly.
Search employers with active PERM histories
Target organizations that have filed PERM applications for Enterprise Architect or related IT architecture roles before. Repeat filers understand the process and are less likely to abandon sponsorship mid-application. Use Migrate Mate to filter by companies with green card sponsorship history in this role category.
Verify your role matches the PERM job description
DOL requires the PERM job description to reflect the actual minimum requirements for the role, not your personal qualifications. If your employer lists overly specific duties or requirements tailored to you, PERM audits become more likely and your case can be delayed.
Benchmark your salary against the OFLC prevailing wage
Before accepting an offer, confirm your offered salary meets or exceeds the DOL prevailing wage for Enterprise Architect at the correct wage level in your work location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check this yourself before your employer files the LCA.
Understand the EB-3 path if your degree is a bachelor's
If you hold a U.S.-equivalent bachelor's degree without additional graduate credentials, EB-3 is likely your track. There's no annual cap on EB-3 petitions, though priority date backlogs apply by country of birth and can affect your wait significantly.
Negotiate sponsorship timing into your offer discussions
Ask whether your employer will file PERM within your first year. Many companies delay until after a probationary period. Starting PERM earlier gives your priority date more time to become current, which matters most if you were born in India or China.

Find Enterprise Architect JobsEnterprise Architect Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Enterprise Architect role typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Most Enterprise Architect positions qualify for EB-2 because they genuinely require an advanced degree or a bachelor's degree plus substantial progressive experience in IT architecture or a related discipline. If your employer can justify that the role requires a master's degree, EB-2 is the stronger path. EB-3 remains an option for roles where a bachelor's degree satisfies the minimum requirement.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B is a temporary nonimmigrant status requiring renewal every three years with no path to permanence on its own. PERM is the first step toward a green card, meaning lawful permanent residency. There's no lottery for employment-based green cards, and EB-3 has no annual petition cap, though per-country backlogs affect how long you wait after approval. PERM also requires your employer to complete a formal DOL recruitment process before filing.
What does the PERM recruitment process mean for Enterprise Architect candidates?
Before your employer can file a PERM application with DOL, they must advertise the position and document that no qualified U.S. workers applied. For professional roles like Enterprise Architect, this typically includes Sunday newspaper ads, job board postings, and internal notices over a 30 to 180-day window. The job description used in ads must match the petition, so any changes to your role after filing can create complications.
How can I find employers that sponsor green cards for Enterprise Architect roles?
Migrate Mate lets you search for Enterprise Architect jobs filtered specifically by employers with employment-based green card sponsorship history, including PERM filings in this occupation category. This saves you from applying to companies that sponsor H-1B but have no experience with PERM, which is a common mismatch that delays or derails sponsorship.
Can my employer sponsor my green card if I'm currently on OPT or H-1B?
Yes. PERM sponsorship is available regardless of your current nonimmigrant status. If you're on H-1B, your employer can begin PERM while you maintain your existing status. If you're on OPT, your employer can file PERM concurrently, though you'll need valid work authorization throughout the process. USCIS allows you to extend H-1B status beyond the six-year cap once your I-140 is approved and your priority date meets certain thresholds under AC21.
