Green Card Javascript Developer Jobs
Javascript Developer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field and meets DOL prevailing wage standards. Your employer files a PERM labor certification before sponsoring your permanent residency, making this a long-term path rather than a temporary work authorization.

INTRODUCTION
As a Senior Engineer, you'll work across the full stack of this app — from Chakra UI components and TanStack Router pages down to server functions that call Salesforce and other third-party APIs. You'll set technical direction within your domain, review code against our established architecture, and mentor other engineers on the team.
This role is 5-days a week onsite in Grapevine, TX.
- Design and build features across GameStop: routes, UI components, and the hooks/server-function layer that talks to Salesforce Commerce Cloud and other services
- Write server-side data-fetching and mutation logic, following the established patterns
- Write strict, type-safe TypeScript with Zod validation at API and form boundaries
- Build and maintain the Chakra UI theme, design tokens, and reusable UI primitives
- Own performance and reliability of a server-rendered app — SSR behavior, Core Web Vitals, and production monitoring via New Relic
- Write unit tests for data transformations and validation logic, and contribute to the Cypress end-to-end test suite
- Partner with the SFRA and OIDC provider teams to ensure the storefront integrates cleanly with authentication and any legacy Salesforce cartridge behavior
- Participate in code review and uphold the team's architecture and folder-structure conventions
- Mentor other engineers and help evolve technical standards as the codebase grows
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of professional experience building production React applications
- Expert-level React and TypeScript practices
- Experience with a full-stack/server-rendered React framework (e.g., TanStack Start, Next.js, Remix) and modern Vite-based tooling
- Strong understanding of state management tradeoffs: server state, form state, and local UI state
- Experience integrating REST APIs from the front end and/or server layer (Axios or similar HTTP clients)
- Experience with a component library or design system (Chakra UI, MUI, or similar)
- Comfort writing tests and working with e2e test suites (Cypress/Playwright)
- Experience in a fast-paced ecommerce environment, including familiarity with checkout and payment flows
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong communication skills and experience mentoring other engineers
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud SCAPI (Shopper APIs), including SDKs like commerce-sdk-isomorphic
- Experience with Salesforce SFRA (Storefront Reference Architecture) or other SFCC cartridge-based development
- Familiarity with legacy Salesforce OCAPI
- Experience with OIDC/OAuth authentication flows
- Experience integrating payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal
- Experience with headless CMS platforms (Amplience or similar) or ecommerce search/merchandising tools (Constructor.io, Algolia)
- Experience deploying to Cloudflare Workers or similar edge platforms
- Familiarity with Storybook for component development
WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT
- A track record of progressing from software engineer into senior or technical-lead roles
- Experience owning a feature or platform area end-to-end in a fast-paced environment
- A bias for action and comfort making tradeoffs in ambiguous situations to deliver customer impact
- Genuine interest in gaming, retail, or ecommerce

Align your degree to specialty occupation criteria
PERM requires your role to normally demand at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. A computer science or software engineering degree maps cleanly to Javascript Developer positions, but an unrelated degree may require additional documentation showing equivalency through coursework or experience.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Not every tech employer sponsors green cards. Filter your search to companies that have filed PERM applications for software developer roles in the past three years. DOL disclosure data shows which employers regularly sponsor, so you're not guessing about willingness before your first interview.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Searching broadly for Javascript Developer jobs buries sponsorship-ready employers among those that only offer H-1B visa or no sponsorship at all. Migrate Mate filters specifically for companies with green card sponsorship history, saving you from applying to roles that will never lead to permanent residency.
Understand the PERM recruitment documentation requirements
Your employer must run a DOL-mandated recruitment process and prove no qualified U.S. worker was available for your role. Gaps in your resume or ambiguous job titles can complicate that audit, so negotiate a job description that precisely matches your actual duties before the process starts.
Check your country's EB-3 priority date backlog early
EB-3 has no annual cap per se, but nationals from India and China face multi-year backlogs due to per-country limits. Review the USCIS Visa Bulletin before committing to a sponsor, since your wait time after I-140 approval depends heavily on your country of birth, not citizenship.
Verify the prevailing wage tier before accepting an offer
DOL assigns your role a wage level from one to four using the OFLC Wage Search. Accepting a Level I offer when your experience qualifies you for Level III can weaken your PERM petition. Confirm the offered salary matches the correct O*NET job zone classification for your seniority.
Green Card Javascript Developer: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Javascript Developer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Javascript Developer positions typically qualify for EB-3 as a professional role requiring a bachelor's degree, and can qualify for EB-2 if the employer establishes that an advanced degree is normally required or the candidate holds strong specialized credentials. The specific classification depends on how the employer drafts the job requirements during the PERM labor certification process.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for Javascript Developers?
H-1B is a temporary nonimmigrant status capped at 85,000 registrations annually and subject to a lottery. PERM-based green card sponsorship leads to permanent residency with no lottery and no annual cap on EB-3 petitions themselves, though per-country backlogs affect final approval timing. The PERM process is longer upfront but the outcome is permanent status rather than a visa requiring renewal every three years.
How long does the PERM and green card process take for a Javascript Developer?
USCIS processing for the I-140 immigrant petition typically takes six to eight months under standard processing, after a PERM labor certification that can take twelve to eighteen months or longer depending on DOL workload. If your country of birth has an EB-3 backlog, you may wait additional years for a visa number to become available before filing for adjustment of status.
Where can I find Javascript Developer jobs that specifically offer green card sponsorship?
Most job postings don't distinguish between H-1B sponsorship and green card sponsorship, which makes filtering manually unreliable. Migrate Mate is built specifically for foreign professionals seeking employment-based green card paths, allowing you to search Javascript Developer roles by companies with documented PERM filing history rather than relying on vague 'visa sponsorship' claims in job descriptions.
Can my employer start PERM sponsorship while I'm on an H-1B or OPT?
Yes. Employers can file a PERM labor certification for you while you're working on H-1B status or even during OPT, as long as the job offer is for a permanent, full-time position. Starting the PERM process early is particularly valuable because the I-140 priority date locks in from the PERM filing date, giving you more flexibility if you later need to change employers under AC21 portability rules.
