Green Card Mobile Engineer Jobs
Mobile Engineer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship when the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. PERM labor certification is the first step, where your employer documents that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role before filing your I-140 immigrant petition.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Mobile Engineer
Document your mobile engineering specializations early
Gather transcripts, certifications, and project portfolios that tie your iOS, Android, or cross-platform work to a specific degree field. USCIS scrutinizes whether your credentials align with the PERM job description, so mismatches at this stage can derail your I-140 later.
Search for employers using PERM filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter mobile engineering roles by employers with active green card sponsorship history, so you're targeting companies that have already completed PERM filings for similar software roles rather than guessing at willingness to sponsor.
Check the prevailing wage before your offer stage
Run the OFLC Wage Search for the SOC code covering your mobile role before negotiating salary. Your employer's PERM application must certify your offered wage meets or exceeds the DOL-determined prevailing wage, and underpaying kills the filing before it starts.
Understand how your O*NET classification affects EB tier
Mobile Engineer roles often map to SOC codes in the O*NET software developer or software quality assurance categories. Your O*NET job zone classification influences whether your role supports EB-2 or EB-3, which directly affects priority date wait times for your nationality.
Clarify who controls the PERM timeline at offer
Ask your prospective employer during the offer process whether they use in-house legal counsel or an outside immigration firm for PERM filings. Employer-side delays in recruitment documentation are the most common reason PERM certifications stall before reaching USCIS.
File your I-485 concurrently if your priority date is current
If your country's EB-2 or EB-3 priority date is current when your I-140 is approved, you can file your adjustment of status application immediately, shortening total green card processing time. Check the USCIS Visa Bulletin monthly during active PERM proceedings.
Green Card Mobile Engineer: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Mobile Engineer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most mobile engineering positions qualify for EB-3 as professional roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering. EB-2 applies when the role requires an advanced degree or your employer can demonstrate your specialized credentials justify the higher classification. The PERM job description must reflect whichever tier your employer files under.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a Mobile Engineer?
H-1B visa is a temporary work visa with an annual lottery cap and a six-year limit. Green card sponsorship through PERM, I-140, and adjustment of status has no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most countries and results in permanent residency rather than a renewable status. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification alone takes several months before USCIS even receives your I-140.
Where can I find Mobile Engineer jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search mobile engineering roles filtered by employers with verified green card sponsorship history, so you can identify companies that have filed PERM applications for similar software positions rather than relying on job postings that don't disclose immigration support upfront.
What credentials should I prepare before a Mobile Engineer PERM filing begins?
Your employer's immigration attorney will need official transcripts confirming your degree in a qualifying field, credential evaluation letters if your degree is from outside the U.S., and documentation of any specialized experience the PERM job description references. Gaps between your credentials and the filed job description are a leading cause of USCIS Requests for Evidence on the I-140.
Can I change jobs while my Mobile Engineer green card is pending?
Under portability rules, once your I-140 is approved and your I-485 has been pending for at least 180 days, you can move to a different employer in the same or similar occupational classification without restarting the process. Mobile engineering roles generally share SOC codes with adjacent software development positions, which USCIS typically accepts as qualifying for portability.
