Verify your credential equivalency early
Foreign rehabilitation therapy assistant credentials often require evaluation before PERM filing. Get a foreign credential evaluation completed so your employer's attorney can confirm your qualifications map to the U.S. DOL's EB-3 skilled worker category before the labor certification begins.
Target employers with PERM filing history
Healthcare networks, hospital systems, and multi-site rehabilitation groups file PERM applications far more consistently than small outpatient clinics. Search OFLC disclosure data to identify facilities that have sponsored rehabilitation or therapy support roles in the past three years.
Search green card jobs through Migrate Mate
Filter specifically for Rehabilitation Services Aide roles with EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship on Migrate Mate. The platform surfaces employers with active green card filing history so you're not cold-applying to facilities that have never navigated PERM.
Confirm the OFLC prevailing wage tier before negotiating
Your offered wage must meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your location and job zone. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the Level I or Level II wage for rehabilitation aide roles in your target metro before you accept an offer.
Ask specifically about I-140 concurrency during interviews
Some employers file the I-140 immediately after PERM certification; others wait months. Ask whether the employer files concurrently and whether they have in-house immigration counsel, since delays between PERM approval and I-140 filing directly extend your total green card timeline.
Understand the EB-3 priority date before changing jobs
Once USCIS approves your I-140, your EB-3 priority date is locked. If you switch employers mid-process, you may lose that date unless the new employer files a fresh petition. Confirm portability rules with your employer's immigration attorney before accepting a competing offer.

Find Rehabilitation Services Aide JobsRehabilitation Services Aide Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Rehabilitation Services Aide roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Rehabilitation Services Aide positions qualify under EB-3 as skilled workers, since the role typically requires specialized training or an associate degree rather than a full bachelor's degree. Candidates who hold a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field such as kinesiology or health sciences may qualify for EB-3 professionals or, in some cases, EB-2 if the employer can justify the advanced-degree requirement in the job description.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B requires a specialty occupation tied to a bachelor's degree, and many Rehabilitation Services Aide roles don't meet that threshold, making H-1B unsuitable. PERM-based EB-3 sponsorship has no annual lottery and leads to permanent residency rather than temporary status. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification alone takes six to twelve months before the I-140 petition even begins, so the full process is longer but the outcome is permanent.
How can I find employers who will sponsor a green card for a Rehabilitation Services Aide position?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by green card sponsorship type, so you can search for Rehabilitation Services Aide roles where employers have confirmed EB-2 or EB-3 filing history. This saves time compared to applying broadly and discovering during the offer stage that a facility has never filed a PERM application.
What does the PERM recruitment process mean for my job search as a foreign applicant?
During PERM labor certification, your employer must advertise the position publicly and demonstrate that no qualified U.S. worker applied. You won't appear in that recruitment as a candidate yourself. The employer files the ETA Form 9089 with DOL after completing recruitment. DOL audits are common in healthcare roles, so employers with prior PERM experience in rehabilitation settings are better positioned to complete the process without significant delays.
Can my EB-3 priority date be transferred if I change employers after PERM approval?
Yes, under AC21 portability rules, you can carry your original EB-3 priority date to a new employer if your I-140 was approved and your adjustment of status application has been pending for at least 180 days. The new role must be in the same or similar occupational classification. Consult your immigration attorney before accepting any new offer to confirm your specific case qualifies for portability.
