EKG Technician Green Card Jobs
EKG Technician roles qualify for EB-3 skilled worker sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, and some advanced cardiovascular technology positions may meet EB-2 criteria. Employers file a PERM application with DOL before petitioning USCIS, making direct sponsorship the standard path to permanent residency for qualified foreign candidates.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an EKG Technician
Certify your credentials before applying
PERM requires your employer to verify that your foreign cardiovascular technology credentials meet U.S. equivalency standards. Get your degree and any relevant certifications evaluated by a NACES-approved credential evaluation service before you start applying.
Target hospital systems with existing PERM history
Large hospital networks and cardiac care centers file PERM applications regularly and have established HR and legal teams to manage the process. Prioritize employers who have sponsored cardiovascular or clinical technician roles before, not those encountering the process for the first time.
Search sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter EKG Technician roles by employers with active green card sponsorship history. This cuts the guesswork of cold-applying to employers who have never filed a PERM application for this occupation.
Verify the prevailing wage before salary negotiations
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for EKG Technicians in your work location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the applicable wage level before your offer stage so you can negotiate from an informed position.
Align your job title with O*NET classification during PERM
DOL requires the PERM application to match a recognized occupation. Confirm with your employer that your job description aligns with the O*NET classification for cardiovascular technologists and technicians so the filing accurately reflects your duties.

Find EKG Technician JobsEKG Technician Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do EKG Technician roles qualify for green card sponsorship?
Yes. EKG Technician positions typically qualify under EB-3 as skilled worker roles requiring specific vocational training or an associate degree. Employers must complete the PERM labor certification process with DOL to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available, then file an I-140 petition with USCIS to sponsor you for permanent residency.
How does EB-3 green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B requires a bachelor's degree in a specialty field and enters you into an annual lottery with no guarantee of selection. EB-3 sponsorship has no lottery, leads directly to permanent residency rather than a temporary status, and is available to EKG Technicians who meet the skilled worker definition, even without a four-year degree. The trade-off is a longer total timeline, often two to four years or more depending on your country of birth.
How long does the PERM and green card process take for EKG Technicians?
The PERM labor certification stage alone currently takes six months to over a year at DOL, followed by I-140 adjudication at USCIS. If your country of birth has a current priority date in the visa bulletin, you can file for adjustment of status concurrently or shortly after. For most countries outside India and China, total processing runs roughly two to four years from PERM filing to green card approval.
Where can I find EKG Technician jobs that sponsor green cards?
Migrate Mate lets you search EKG Technician roles filtered specifically by employers with green card sponsorship history. Because most general job boards don't surface PERM filing data, using a tool built around employment-based sponsorship history saves significant time and helps you avoid applying to employers who have never sponsored this occupation.
Can my employer sponsor me for EB-2 instead of EB-3 as an EKG Technician?
EB-2 requires a position that normally demands an advanced degree or a candidate with a master's degree or higher in a related field. Standard EKG Technician roles are typically classified under EB-3 because the minimum qualification is a certificate or associate degree. If your role involves advanced cardiac diagnostic responsibilities and your employer structures the position as requiring a higher degree, EB-2 may be possible, but this is uncommon and requires careful coordination with the employer's immigration counsel.
