Green Card Nurse Navigator Jobs
Nurse Navigator roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification when employers attest they cannot find qualified U.S. workers. Health systems hiring foreign-trained RNs for care coordination typically file under EB-3, and the process leads to permanent residency rather than a renewable temporary status.

Verify your credentials match PERM requirements
PERM labor certification requires your foreign nursing degree and RN license to meet the specific minimum requirements listed in the job description. Get your credentials evaluated by a CGFNS-recognized credential evaluation service before employers begin the PERM audit trail.
Target health systems with PERM filing history
Large integrated health systems and academic medical centers regularly sponsor foreign RNs into care coordination roles. Search DOL PERM disclosure data to confirm a hospital has filed for Nurse Navigator or comparable RN case management positions in the past two years.
Clarify the EB-2 versus EB-3 category with your employer
Most Nurse Navigator postings require a BSN, which qualifies under EB-3 as a professional. If your role requires an MSN or a specialty certification like OCN, your employer may file under EB-2, which can affect priority date movement for your country of birth.
Ask employers about concurrent I-140 and I-485 filing
If a visa number is immediately available for your country and preference category, your employer can file the I-140 petition and your I-485 adjustment of status application at the same time, cutting months off your wait for work authorization as a permanent resident.
Search green card sponsoring Nurse Navigator jobs on Migrate Mate
Filter by role and sponsorship type on Migrate Mate to find health systems actively filing PERM cases for Nurse Navigator positions, so you spend your search time on employers already committed to the EB-3 sponsorship process rather than guessing at hiring intent.
Check prevailing wage before negotiating your offer
Your employer must pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your geographic area and experience level throughout the green card process. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your specific metro before you accept an offer or sign an employment agreement.
Green Card Nurse Navigator: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Nurse Navigator role qualify for an employment-based green card?
Yes. Nurse Navigator positions typically qualify under EB-3 as professional roles requiring at minimum a BSN and an active RN license. Employers file a PERM labor certification with DOL to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available, then submit an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Roles requiring an MSN or advanced specialty credentials may qualify under EB-2.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for Nurse Navigators?
The green card path through PERM leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status requiring renewal every three years. There is no annual cap lottery at the EB-3 level that limits when your employer can file. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM labor certification alone takes six months to over a year before the I-140 petition is even filed, whereas an approved H-1B visa allows you to start working much sooner.
Which employers typically sponsor Nurse Navigators for green cards?
Large integrated health systems, National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers, and academic medical centers are the most consistent PERM filers for care coordination and navigation roles. Community hospitals sponsor less frequently because the PERM process requires dedicated HR and legal resources. Searching DOL PERM disclosure data by SOC code for registered nurses in case management functions helps you identify active filers before applying.
How can I find Nurse Navigator jobs that include green card sponsorship?
Most job postings don't advertise PERM sponsorship explicitly, so you need to verify filing history independently. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active employment-based sponsorship records for nursing and care coordination roles, letting you filter opportunities by sponsorship type before you invest time in the application process.
Can my Nurse Navigator employer file EB-3 for me if I am currently on an H-1B or OPT?
Yes. Your employer can begin PERM labor certification while you are maintaining valid H-1B or OPT status. You do not need to leave the country or change status to start the green card process. Once the I-140 is approved and a visa number is available for your country of birth, you file I-485 adjustment of status with USCIS to complete the process without departing the U.S.
