Pediatric Dentist Green Card Jobs
Pediatric dentist roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires your employer to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. Board certification, dental school credentials, and state licensure all factor into how your petition is classified and filed.

Get your dental credentials evaluated early
If you completed dental school outside the U.S., obtain a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized organization before approaching employers. Many PERM petitions for foreign-trained dentists stall because the degree equivalency step wasn't completed before the labor certification was filed.
Target pediatric dental group practices strategically
Multi-location pediatric dental groups and DSO-affiliated practices file PERM petitions more frequently than solo practitioners, who often lack the HR infrastructure to manage the DOL's prevailing wage and recruitment requirements for a full labor certification.
Verify prevailing wage before negotiating your offer
Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the prevailing wage for pediatric dentist roles in your target metro area. Your offered salary must meet or exceed this figure, or DOL will reject the LCA, delaying your entire green card timeline.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 classification with your sponsor
Pediatric dentists with a dental specialty certificate or advanced clinical training may qualify under EB-2, while general DDS or DMD holders typically file under EB-3. Ask your sponsoring employer to confirm which category their attorney plans to use before the I-140 is prepared.
Search Migrate Mate to find active PERM sponsors
Employers with recent PERM filing history for dental roles are far more likely to sponsor again than those with no record. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with documented green card sponsorship activity, so you can prioritize outreach to practices already familiar with the PERM process.
Confirm state licensure timing fits your PERM filing window
PERM labor certification requires you to meet all job requirements at the time of filing, including a valid state dental license. Delays in licensing board processing can push your PERM start date back significantly, so apply for licensure as early as your program timeline permits.

Find Pediatric Dentist JobsPediatric Dentist Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do pediatric dentist roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Both categories apply, depending on your credentials and how the employer structures the job requirements. EB-3 covers roles requiring a professional degree such as a DDS or DMD. EB-2 applies when the position requires an advanced degree or the employer can demonstrate a business necessity for higher qualifications. Pediatric specialty certification strengthens an EB-2 case substantially.
How does PERM green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for a pediatric dentist?
H-1B is a temporary work visa with an annual lottery cap, typically valid for three to six years. PERM-based green card sponsorship is permanent and has no annual lottery. While EB-3 does have per-country annual limits that can create backlogs for applicants from high-demand countries, there is no random selection process, and approval leads to lawful permanent residency rather than a time-limited status.
What does the PERM labor certification process require from a pediatric dentist employer?
The sponsoring employer must conduct a DOL-supervised recruitment process to demonstrate no minimally qualified U.S. workers applied for the role. They must pay at least the prevailing wage established through the OFLC Wage Search for that occupation and location. The recruitment must occur within a specific window before the PERM application is submitted, and all records must be retained for USCIS audits.
How can I find pediatric dentist employers who will sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate identifies employers with verified PERM filing history in dental and healthcare occupations, making it easier to target practices that have already navigated the sponsorship process. Pediatric dental groups affiliated with DSOs and hospital-based practices in underserved areas tend to sponsor most often, since they operate the administrative infrastructure that PERM compliance requires.
Is country of birth a factor in how long my green card process takes as a pediatric dentist?
Yes. USCIS allocates employment-based green cards under per-country annual limits. Applicants born in countries with high demand, such as India and China, often face longer waits at the EB-3 level due to backlogs measured in years. Applicants born in most other countries typically face much shorter waits. Your country of birth, not citizenship, determines which quota applies to your case.
