Green Card Dental Assistant Jobs
Dental Assistant roles qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification when employers can demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available. Clinics, dental groups, and hospital systems file I-140 petitions after PERM approval, sponsoring foreign-trained dental assistants for permanent residency rather than a temporary visa status.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Dental Assistant
Verify your credentials match state requirements
Dental assistant licensing varies by state. Before applying, confirm your foreign credentials align with the specific chairside, radiography, or expanded-function permits the sponsoring state requires, since PERM job descriptions are tied to those exact qualifications.
Target multi-location dental groups over solo practices
Large dental service organizations and hospital-affiliated dental departments file PERM more regularly than single-chair practices. Their in-house HR or legal teams already understand the DOL recruitment and prevailing-wage documentation the process demands.
Search green card sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Filter by dental assistant roles with documented EB-2 or EB-3 filing history. Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have completed PERM sponsorship for similar roles, cutting the time spent cold-approaching practices with no sponsorship infrastructure.
Benchmark your offer against OFLC prevailing wages
PERM approval requires your offered wage to meet or exceed the DOL prevailing wage for your specific job zone and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search before accepting an offer to confirm the salary qualifies at Wage Level I or II for dental assistants in that metro area.
Request employer confirmation of E-Verify enrollment early
Employers sponsoring green cards through PERM must be legitimate hiring entities. Asking whether the practice is enrolled in E-Verify during early conversations signals you understand the process and helps you screen out employers unfamiliar with federal employment-eligibility obligations.
Understand that EB-3 has no annual cap issues for most nationalities
Unlike H-1B visa, EB-3 sponsorship is not subject to a lottery. For most nationalities, priority dates are current or near-current, meaning your I-485 adjustment of status can proceed without multi-year waits after your employer's I-140 is approved by USCIS.
Green Card Dental Assistant: Frequently Asked Questions
Do dental assistant roles actually qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Dental assistants fall within the EB-3 skilled worker category when the position requires at least two years of training or experience. Employers must complete PERM labor certification through DOL, demonstrating no qualified U.S. workers are available, before USCIS will approve the I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf.
How does EB-3 green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for dental assistants?
H-1B requires a specialty occupation tied to a bachelor's degree and is subject to an annual lottery, making it largely inaccessible for dental assistants. EB-3 has no lottery, no annual cap at the classification level for most nationalities, and leads directly to permanent residency rather than a temporary status requiring repeated renewals.
How long does the PERM and green card process take for a dental assistant role?
PERM labor certification currently takes around 500 to 600 calendar days from filing at DOL. After PERM approval, USCIS reviews the I-140 petition, which can take six to twelve months under standard processing. Adjustment of status or consular processing follows once your priority date becomes current, adding additional months to the overall timeline.
Where can I find dental employers who have sponsored green cards before?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by employers with documented EB-2 and EB-3 filing history, including dental assistant roles. Targeting practices that have already navigated PERM and I-140 filings is far more efficient than approaching employers who have never sponsored a foreign worker and would need to build that process from scratch.
Can my employer sponsor me for EB-2 instead of EB-3 as a dental assistant?
EB-2 requires either an advanced degree or a National Interest Waiver, which dental assistant positions rarely support since the role does not typically require a master's degree or higher. Most sponsoring employers will file under EB-3. Candidates with strong credentials such as a bachelor's degree in a dental science field combined with specialized clinical training may warrant a closer look at EB-2 eligibility with an immigration attorney.
