Green Card Interventional Radiologist Jobs
Interventional Radiologist roles qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available. Board certification, fellowship training, and subspecialty credentials strengthen both your PERM case and your classification as an advanced-degree professional eligible for EB-2.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship in Interventional Radiologist
Get your foreign medical credentials evaluated early
PERM requires documented proof that your training is U.S.-equivalent. Commission a credential evaluation through an NACES-recognized organization before you start applying, so employers aren't waiting on paperwork when they're ready to file.
Target hospitals with active PERM filing history
Academic medical centers and large health systems file PERM petitions regularly and have in-house immigration counsel. Prioritize radiology departments at teaching hospitals, where sponsorship infrastructure already exists and the process won't be new to HR.
Search sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Interventional Radiologist openings by employers with green card sponsorship history. This saves time by surfacing roles where the employer has already committed to the PERM process for this occupation.
Clarify EB-2 versus EB-3 classification before the I-140
If your role requires a fellowship or subspecialty board certification, it likely qualifies for EB-2, which avoids the longer EB-3 backlogs for most countries. Confirm the classification with your employer's immigration attorney before USCIS files the I-140 petition.
Negotiate PERM recruitment timing into your offer
DOL requires your employer to conduct and document a good-faith recruitment effort before filing the PERM application. Ask during negotiations when the employer plans to begin that recruitment process so you understand the realistic timeline to I-140 and beyond.
Use the OFLC Wage Search to verify your prevailing wage tier
PERM sets your minimum salary at the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Check the OFLC Wage Search before accepting an offer to confirm the employer's offered wage meets at least the Level II or III threshold for your metro area.
Green Card Interventional Radiologist: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Interventional Radiologist role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Interventional Radiology typically qualifies for EB-2 because the position requires a medical degree plus fellowship training, meeting the advanced-degree standard. EB-3 is also available for employers who prefer that route. Your employer's immigration attorney will confirm the correct classification before filing the PERM labor certification and I-140 petition with USCIS.
How does the green card process differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B visa is a temporary status requiring renewal and subject to annual cap concerns, though cap-exempt hospital employers reduce that risk. A green card through PERM is permanent residency with no renewal cycle. The PERM process takes longer upfront, often two to four years from labor certification to approval, but results in full U.S. work authorization rather than employer-tied status.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for an Interventional Radiologist?
Your employer files the PERM application with DOL after completing a mandatory recruitment period, advertising the position and documenting that no qualified U.S. worker was available. Interventional Radiology's specialized fellowship requirements often help establish that the role genuinely couldn't be filled domestically. Once DOL certifies the PERM, your employer files the I-140 petition with USCIS.
How can I find Interventional Radiologist jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Not every radiology posting includes green card sponsorship, so filtering by sponsorship history matters. Migrate Mate lets you search Interventional Radiologist openings specifically by employers with documented green card sponsorship, so you're spending time on applications where the employer has already committed to the PERM process rather than discovering late that sponsorship isn't available.
Does board certification affect my green card eligibility as an Interventional Radiologist?
Board certification strengthens your PERM case by supporting the employer's argument that the role has specialized requirements a generalist radiologist can't meet. For EB-2, it reinforces the advanced-degree and specialized credentials standard. If you hold Interventional Radiology board certification from ABR or an equivalent body, include it in your credential documentation before the PERM application is filed.
