Registered Radiologic Technologist Green Card Jobs
Registered Radiologic Technologist roles qualify for EB-3 skilled-worker sponsorship and, for candidates with an advanced degree or specialized credentials, EB-2. Employers file PERM labor certification with DOL before sponsoring permanent residency. Sponsorship timelines vary by country of birth, but the path leads to a green card rather than a temporary visa.

Verify your ARRT credential before applying
PERM applications for radiologic technologist roles typically require ARRT certification as a minimum qualification. Confirm your credential is current and recognized in the state where the job is located before targeting sponsoring employers.
Target hospital systems with PERM filing history
Large hospital networks and academic medical centers file PERM petitions far more regularly than outpatient clinics or private practices. Filter your job search to these employer types, as they have established HR processes for employment-based green card sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to find green-card-sponsoring employers
Search Migrate Mate to identify employers who have sponsored radiologic technologists for green cards. Filtering by PERM filing history saves you from applying to facilities that have never navigated the DOL labor certification process for this role.
Understand how prevailing wage affects your offer
DOL requires employers to pay the prevailing wage for your role and location. Cross-check any offer against the OFLC Wage Search before accepting, so you know whether the employer's offered wage meets the Level I through Level IV threshold for PERM certification.
Ask employers about their PERM timeline upfront
Radiologic technologist roles typically qualify under EB-3, which means your wait for a green card depends heavily on your country of birth. Clarify with the employer when they plan to file PERM and I-140, and whether they will concurrently file I-485 once your priority date is current.
Gather your foreign credential evaluation early
If you trained outside the United States, PERM requires documented evidence that your foreign radiology degree is equivalent to U.S. standards. Obtain a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization before the employer initiates the DOL audit process, not after.

Find Registered Radiologic Technologist JobsRegistered Radiologic Technologist Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Registered Radiologic Technologist jobs qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most radiologic technologist roles qualify under EB-3 skilled worker, which requires a minimum of two years of training or experience. If you hold a master's degree or higher in radiologic sciences or a related field, your employer may be able to structure the position as EB-2. The qualifying tier depends on how the employer drafts the job requirements in the PERM labor certification.
How is the PERM green card process different from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
PERM sponsorship leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary work authorization. There is no annual lottery and no two-year or six-year cap tied to the green card itself. The PERM process requires the employer to conduct a DOL-supervised recruitment test to demonstrate no qualified U.S. workers are available, which adds time compared to H-1B, but the outcome is lawful permanent resident status rather than a visa that must be renewed.
How long does the green card process typically take for a radiologic technologist role?
The PERM labor certification stage alone can take six to eighteen months at DOL, depending on whether the application is audited. After PERM approval, the employer files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Wait time for a visa number then depends on your country of birth and the EB-3 priority date in the monthly Visa Bulletin. Applicants born in countries with backlogged EB-3 queues should factor in additional years before adjustment of status is available.
How do I find employers who will sponsor a green card for a radiologic technologist position?
Search Migrate Mate to identify hospitals and healthcare systems with documented green card sponsorship history for radiologic technologist roles. Targeting employers who have already completed the PERM process for this job title reduces the risk of delays caused by employers unfamiliar with DOL labor certification requirements.
Does holding an H-1B while pursuing PERM sponsorship affect my radiologic technologist green card case?
Radiologic technologist roles are not classified as specialty occupations under USCIS standards in most cases, which means many candidates in this field cannot use H-1B as a bridge visa while PERM is pending. If you are currently on a different nonimmigrant status, confirm with the sponsoring employer how they plan to maintain your work authorization during the PERM and I-140 stages before accepting the offer.
