Green Card Radiation Therapist Jobs
Radiation Therapist roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document that no qualified U.S. workers are available before filing your I-140 immigrant petition. Most hospital systems and cancer centers treat this as a standard hiring pathway given persistent workforce shortages in radiation oncology.

Verify your credentials before PERM begins
Your state radiation therapy license and ARRT certification must be current before your employer files a PERM application. Missing or expired credentials can halt the DOL audit process and delay your green card timeline by months.
Target employers with dedicated immigration programs
Academic medical centers, NCI-designated cancer centers, and large hospital networks are far more likely to have established PERM workflows for radiation therapists than small outpatient clinics. Filter your search specifically for organizations with an in-house HR immigration team.
Search sponsoring employers on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to find Radiation Therapist roles at employers with active EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship history. Filtering by sponsorship type saves you from applying to positions where PERM is not a realistic option.
Clarify which EB category your employer intends to file
Employers can file under EB-2 if your role requires a master's degree or equivalent, or EB-3 for a four-year degree. Ask directly during the offer stage, since the category affects your priority date and your country's backlog wait.
Confirm the prevailing wage before signing an offer
PERM requires your employer to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your radiation therapist role and geographic area. Cross-check the offered salary against the OFLC Wage Search before accepting, so there are no surprises when DOL certifies the LCA.
Understand the PERM recruitment window affects your start date
DOL requires employers to complete a mandatory recruitment period before submitting your PERM application. This process typically runs 30 to 60 days after the LCA is certified, so factor this into your timeline when negotiating a start date with a sponsoring employer.
Green Card Radiation Therapist: Frequently Asked Questions
Do Radiation Therapist jobs commonly qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Radiation Therapist roles qualify under EB-3 for professionals with a bachelor's degree and ARRT certification. EB-2 is available when the position genuinely requires a master's degree or equivalent. PERM labor certification is the standard first step either way, with the employer documenting that no qualified U.S. workers were available for the role.
How is PERM green card sponsorship different from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
The PERM and I-140 process leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary status. Unlike H-1B visa, EB-3 green card sponsorship is not subject to an annual lottery, so your employer can file at any time. The tradeoff is a longer overall timeline: PERM labor certification alone can take six to twelve months before the I-140 petition is even filed.
Can I search specifically for Radiation Therapist jobs with green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Radiation Therapist roles by employers with verified EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship history, so you can focus on positions where PERM is already an established part of the hiring process rather than something you need to negotiate from scratch with every employer.
Will PERM labor certification be affected by my visa status while I am waiting?
PERM can be filed regardless of your current nonimmigrant status, and you do not need to be in the U.S. to begin the process. If you are on H-1B or another work authorization, you can remain employed while your employer completes PERM and files the I-140. USCIS allows adjustment of status once a visa number becomes available for your country and category.
What happens to my green card petition if I change employers before it is approved?
If you change employers before your I-140 is approved, the PERM and I-140 filings tied to the previous employer generally become invalid and the new employer must restart the process. However, once your I-140 has been approved for 180 days, AC21 portability rules under immigration law may allow you to transfer the priority date to a new employer in a same or similar occupation.
