Green Card Orthodontist Assistant Jobs
Orthodontist assistant roles qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires your employer to document recruitment efforts and file an I-140 immigrant petition on your behalf. Dental offices and orthodontic practices increasingly sponsor foreign-trained assistants, making this a viable permanent residency pathway.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an Orthodontist Assistant
Get your credentials evaluated before applying
A foreign dental or orthodontic assistant credential needs a NACES-member evaluation before PERM filing. Employers and DOL reviewers check that your training aligns with the U.S. job requirements, so having a completed evaluation speeds the labor certification stage.
Search practices enrolled in E-Verify
Orthodontic offices enrolled in E-Verify are already accustomed to immigration compliance paperwork. Targeting these practices narrows your search to employers structurally prepared to sponsor PERM-based green cards rather than those encountering the process for the first time.
Check prevailing wage requirements using OFLC Wage Search
Before your employer files a PERM application, DOL sets a prevailing wage for your specific role and location. Run a search on OFLC Wage Search yourself so you can confirm any job offer meets or exceeds that threshold before the process begins.
Find green-card-sponsoring employers through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter orthodontist assistant openings by employers with active EB-3 sponsorship history. This cuts out practices that list positions without any immigration support infrastructure, focusing your applications where sponsorship is already in place.
Clarify state licensure requirements with each employer
Many states require orthodontic or dental assistant licensure before a PERM application can accurately define the job duties. Confirm with each prospective employer which state certifications they will list as minimum requirements, since PERM job descriptions lock in those qualifications permanently.
Understand that EB-3 sponsorship takes longer than H-1B
EB-3 PERM processing, I-140 adjudication, and adjustment of status together typically run two to four years for most nationalities. Unlike the H-1B visa, there is no lottery, and permanent residency rather than a temporary status is the end result.
Green Card Orthodontist Assistant: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an orthodontist assistant job qualify for EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Yes. Orthodontist assistant roles typically qualify under the EB-3 skilled worker category because they require specific vocational training and, in most states, a recognized certification or licensure. Your employer must complete PERM labor certification through DOL, then file an I-140 petition with USCIS on your behalf before you can move toward adjustment of status.
How does EB-3 green card sponsorship differ from an H-1B for this role?
The H-1B requires a bachelor's degree in a specialty field and subjects you to an annual lottery, creating significant uncertainty. EB-3 sponsorship through PERM has no lottery and no annual cap at the petition stage. The tradeoff is timeline: green card processing takes longer than an H-1B approval, but it leads to permanent residency rather than a temporary, renewable status.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for orthodontist assistant positions?
PERM requires your employer to conduct supervised recruitment, advertise the position, and demonstrate that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role at the DOL-set prevailing wage. Once DOL certifies the application, your employer files an I-140 with USCIS. The entire labor certification stage alone can take six months to over a year depending on DOL processing times.
How can I find orthodontist assistant employers who sponsor green cards?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter job listings by employers with documented EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship activity, so you're not guessing whether a dental or orthodontic practice has the infrastructure to support a PERM application. This saves time by surfacing only practices that have already engaged with employment-based sponsorship.
Does my foreign dental or orthodontic training count toward EB-3 eligibility?
Foreign training and credentials can satisfy the minimum requirements listed in a PERM job description, but they need to be formally evaluated by a NACES-recognized credential evaluation service. Your employer will document those equivalent qualifications in the labor certification application. Some states also require you to hold a local license before the PERM job description can reflect your actual duties accurately.
