Green Card Revenue Accountant Jobs
Revenue Accountant roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available. Accounting positions with a bachelor's degree requirement typically fit the EB-3 professionals category, while advanced-degree professionals may qualify under EB-2. Sponsorship timelines vary by country of birth and employer readiness.

Document your accounting credentials precisely
PERM requires your employer to match your foreign degree to the posted job requirements. Get a credential evaluation that maps your accounting coursework to a U.S. bachelor's equivalent before you start any employer conversations.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Search DOL disclosure data to identify companies that have filed PERM applications for Revenue Accountant or Staff Accountant roles. Prior filings signal that the employer understands the process and has internal infrastructure to sponsor again.
Clarify your EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility early
If your role requires only a bachelor's degree, you'll likely fall under EB-3. A master's in accounting or finance, or five years of progressive experience, can support an EB-2 petition and potentially shorten your wait time based on your country of birth.
Ask about PERM recruitment timelines before accepting an offer
PERM requires the employer to run a full recruitment campaign before filing. That process typically takes three to six months. Confirm whether the employer has started this process or plans to, so you can assess realistic green card timelines alongside your offer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter roles by sponsorship type
Searching broadly for Revenue Accountant jobs wastes time on roles that only offer H-1B visa transfer, not permanent sponsorship. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for employers offering employment-based green card sponsorship, narrowing your search to PERM-eligible positions.
Understand how prevailing wage affects your offer
PERM and I-140 require your employer to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for Revenue Accountant in your city before evaluating whether an offer meets the legal threshold.
Green Card Revenue Accountant: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Revenue Accountant role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most Revenue Accountant positions qualify under EB-3 as a professional role requiring a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. If your employer requires a master's degree for the position, or if you hold a master's and the role reflects that level, EB-2 may apply. Your country of birth determines which category offers a shorter wait given current priority date backlogs.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for this role?
H-1B is a temporary work visa with an annual lottery and a six-year base limit. Green card sponsorship through PERM leads to permanent residency with no renewal cycle or lottery risk. The PERM process takes longer upfront, typically one to two years before the I-140 is approved, but it's not subject to annual caps at the petition stage. For nationals of countries without heavy backlog, EB-3 can move faster than many candidates expect.
What does the PERM labor certification process require from my employer?
The employer must conduct a DOL-supervised recruitment process to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available for the Revenue Accountant role. This includes posting the job through specific channels, documenting applicant rejections with lawful reasons, and submitting the application through the PERM system. The employer, not you, files and pays for this process. Your role is to ensure your credentials match the posted job requirements exactly.
How do I find Revenue Accountant jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Most job boards don't distinguish between employers willing to file PERM and those who only offer H-1B transfers or no sponsorship at all. Migrate Mate filters specifically for employment-based green card sponsorship, so you can identify Revenue Accountant roles where employers have committed to the PERM process rather than sifting through listings that won't lead to permanent residency.
Can I switch employers after my green card process starts?
Once your I-140 petition is approved and your priority date is current or within 180 days of becoming current, portability rules under AC21 allow you to change employers for a same or similar occupational role without losing your place in the queue. Revenue Accountant to Senior Accountant or Financial Analyst transitions often qualify, but your immigration attorney should confirm that the new role falls within the same SOC code range before you make the move.
