Translate your credentials for PERM reviewers
Foreign accounting degrees get scrutinized during PERM. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member agency confirming your degree is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's or master's in accounting, taxation, or a related field before any employer files.
Identify firms with active PERM filing history
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data for employers who have filed PERM applications under the tax analyst or accountant SOC codes. Firms with consistent PERM activity for tax roles are structurally prepared to sponsor you, not just willing in principle.
Use Migrate Mate to filter green card sponsors
Search Migrate Mate to find Tax Senior Associate roles at employers with documented PERM and I-140 filing history, so you're targeting firms that have sponsored tax professionals before rather than those merely open to the idea.
Understand how CPA licensure affects your EB-2 case
USCIS evaluates whether a Tax Senior Associate role genuinely requires an advanced degree. If your employer is filing EB-2, holding or being eligible for CPA licensure strengthens the specialty occupation argument and reduces the risk of a Request for Evidence.

Find Tax Senior Associate JobsTax Senior Associate Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Tax Senior Associate role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship?
Both categories are viable depending on how the employer defines the role. EB-3 applies when the position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. EB-2 applies when the employer can document that the role requires an advanced degree or its equivalent. Many large accounting firms file EB-2 for senior tax staff, but EB-3 is more common at mid-size employers where the degree requirement is a four-year bachelor's.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B for this role?
H-1B is temporary, capped at 85,000 annually, and requires lottery selection for most applicants. Green card sponsorship through PERM and I-140 is permanent, has no annual cap at the EB-3 level for most nationalities, and is employer-driven from the start. The tradeoff is time: PERM alone takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the I-140 petition, making early employer commitment essential for tax professionals on expiring work authorization.
What does the PERM process look like for a tax professional?
Your employer conducts a supervised recruitment campaign to confirm no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role, then files an ETA Form 9089 with DOL. For tax roles, the job duties and minimum requirements listed on the PERM application must match what you actually do. Audits are common if the employer has filed multiple PERM applications, so accurate job descriptions matter more than they might seem at the offer stage.
How do I find Tax Senior Associate jobs that offer green card sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for Tax Senior Associate roles at employers with documented PERM and I-140 filing history, so you can focus your applications on firms that have completed the sponsorship process before rather than those listing it as a vague possibility. This is faster than filtering general job boards where sponsorship availability is inconsistently disclosed.
Can my employer file for green card sponsorship while I'm on H-1B?
Yes, and starting early is strategically important. USCIS allows H-1B extensions beyond the standard six-year cap once an I-140 is approved or a PERM application has been pending for 365 days. For tax professionals with Indian or Chinese nationality facing long priority date backlogs in EB-2 and EB-3, getting PERM filed as early as possible in your H-1B period directly determines how long you can stay and work legally while waiting.
