Triage Nurse Green Card Jobs
Triage nurses with foreign credentials can qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process, which requires employers to document recruitment efforts before filing. Hospitals and urgent care networks regularly sponsor internationally trained RNs, making triage nursing one of the more accessible pathways to U.S. permanent residency.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as a Triage Nurse
Verify your CGFNS credentials before applying
Most PERM-sponsoring hospitals require Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) certification or a state board-approved credential evaluation before initiating the labor certification process. Have this completed before you start targeting employers.
Target hospital systems with active PERM filings
Search DOL PERM disclosure data to identify hospital networks that have filed labor certifications for RN or triage nurse roles in the past 24 months. Repeat filers have established immigration counsel and faster internal processes.
Search green card sponsorship jobs on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter triage nurse roles specifically by employers with EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship history, so you're not wasting applications on facilities that only offer H-1B or no sponsorship at all.
Clarify EB-3 vs EB-2 with your prospective employer
Most triage nurse roles qualify under EB-3 as professional positions requiring a BSN. If you hold a master's degree in nursing or a clinical specialty, ask whether the employer will support an EB-2 filing, which has shorter backlogs for most countries.
Understand the PERM recruitment window timing
Your employer must complete DOL-mandated recruitment steps within 180 days before filing the PERM application. Confirm the employer has started this window before you give notice at your current position, as delays at this stage are common.
Use the OFLC Wage Search to benchmark your offer
PERM requires your offered wage to meet or exceed the prevailing wage for triage nurses in the specific metropolitan area where you'll work. Cross-check your offer against the OFLC Wage Search before signing, since a below-prevailing-wage offer will trigger a DOL audit.

Find Triage Nurse JobsTriage Nurse Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Do triage nurse roles typically qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Triage nurse positions almost always qualify under EB-3 as professional roles requiring at minimum a BSN degree and active RN licensure. If you hold a master's degree in nursing or a clinical nursing specialty, some employers will support an EB-2 filing for advanced-degree professionals, which may have more favorable priority date movement depending on your country of birth.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for a triage nurse?
Green card sponsorship through PERM is permanent residency, not a temporary status. There is no annual lottery at the EB-3 level, and the employer's obligation runs through adjustment of status approval rather than expiring after a set visa period. The tradeoff is timeline: PERM plus I-140 filing typically takes one to three years before you can file for adjustment of status, compared to the faster but temporary H-1B route.
What credential documents do I need before a hospital will start the PERM process for me?
Most sponsoring hospitals require an active RN license in the state where you'll work, a CGFNS certificate or state-accepted credential evaluation, passing NCLEX scores, and English language test results such as IELTS or TOEFL if your nursing education was not conducted in English. Some facilities also require ACLS or TNCC certification before initiating the PERM labor certification filing.
How do I find triage nurse jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate lets you search triage nurse roles specifically filtered by employers with EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship history, so you can focus your applications on facilities that have already demonstrated willingness to go through the PERM process rather than those that only support temporary work visas.
Can I switch employers after my PERM is filed but before my green card is approved?
Yes, with important conditions. Once your I-140 petition has been approved and your priority date is current or you've been waiting more than 180 days after I-485 filing, portability rules under AC21 allow you to change to a same or similar triage nursing role without losing your place in the green card queue. Consult an immigration attorney before accepting a new offer during this window.
