UI UX Developer Green Card Jobs
UI UX Developer roles qualify for EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship through PERM labor certification, which requires your employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available for the position. Most UX roles clear specialty occupation standards because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in a design, HCI, or computer science field.

If this is a remote position, the pay scale disclosed herein may be adjusted further based upon the applicable geographic differential associated with the location from which the successful candidate will work. Please note that it is not typical for a Fender employee to be at or near the top of the pay scale for their role – especially as a new hire – and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Green Card Sponsorship as an UI UX Developer
Match your degree to the role description
PERM approval depends on your degree field aligning with the job duties. A degree in graphic design, HCI, or computer science supports a UX Developer petition more cleanly than an unrelated field, so document that alignment explicitly in your application materials.
Target employers with active PERM filing history
Use Migrate Mate to filter UI UX Developer roles by employers who have filed PERM labor certifications before. Repeat filers have established processes and legal relationships that dramatically reduce the chance of a sponsorship conversation going nowhere.
Identify EB-2 versus EB-3 eligibility before applying
EB-2 applies if your role requires an advanced degree or you hold a master's or higher. EB-3 covers bachelor's-level professionals. Knowing which category fits your credentials lets you steer conversations with hiring managers toward the right petition track from the start.
Verify the prevailing wage tier for your city
DOL sets four wage levels for each occupation and metro area. Use the OFLC Wage Search to check the Level I through Level IV wage for your target location before accepting an offer, so you can confirm the role's salary meets PERM certification requirements.
Ask about I-140 concurrent filing during negotiations
Once your employer files the PERM application with DOL, they can file the I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS concurrently or immediately after approval. Asking about this timeline during the offer stage signals green card readiness and shortens the overall path to permanent residency.
Request a portfolio review before the PERM audit stage
DOL audits can request evidence that your experience supports the job duties listed. A documented portfolio of UX projects tied directly to the O*NET occupation profile for your role strengthens your employer's audit response and reduces delays in the labor certification process.

Find UI UX Developer JobsUI UX Developer Green Card Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does a UI UX Developer role qualify for EB-2 or EB-3 green card sponsorship?
Most UI UX Developer positions qualify for EB-3 sponsorship as skilled professionals requiring a bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or a related field. Roles requiring a master's degree or involving advanced research, such as UX strategy or research leadership positions, may qualify for EB-2. Your employer's attorney determines the petition category based on the job description and your credentials.
How does green card sponsorship differ from H-1B sponsorship for UX roles?
Green card sponsorship through PERM is permanent and has no annual lottery. H-1B status is temporary and subject to the annual 85,000-slot cap with a random selection process. PERM takes longer overall, typically two to four years including the I-140 and adjustment of status stages, but the outcome is lawful permanent residency rather than a renewable temporary status that depends on employer continuity.
What does the PERM labor certification process involve for a UI UX Developer?
Your employer must conduct a supervised recruitment process defined by DOL to demonstrate that no qualified U.S. worker applied for the role. This includes posting the job through required channels, documenting applicant rejections with lawful business reasons, and filing the ETA Form 9089 with DOL. The process typically takes six to eighteen months before DOL issues a certification, which then supports the I-140 petition to USCIS.
How can I find UI UX Developer jobs where the employer will sponsor a green card?
Migrate Mate lets you search specifically for UI UX Developer roles with employers who have a documented history of PERM labor certification filings. Filtering by green card sponsorship history upfront saves significant time compared to raising the topic late in an interview process with employers who have no established sponsorship pathway.
Can I switch employers after my PERM application is filed?
Changing employers after PERM is filed but before the I-140 is approved restarts the PERM process with the new employer. Once your I-140 is approved and your priority date is more than 180 days old, AC21 portability may allow you to change to a same or similar occupation without losing your place in line, provided your new role aligns with your approved petition's job duties.
