The Opportunity
Have you ever considered building something meaningful in a place that feels like home — with the backing, resources, and technical depth to do it at scale?
This role is designed for a seasoned structural engineer who is ready to step into a visible leadership role, help grow a team, expand a market, and help shape the future of KPFF’s presence in the Nashville area. As a Structural Engineering Group Leader, you will have the opportunity to lead with purpose: developing client relationships, building a high-performing team, mentoring the next generation of engineers, and helping your office drive the growth of a local practice with the support and strength of a national firm.
You do not have to choose between local impact and national opportunity. KPFF offers both: the influence to shape a growing local team and the platform to contribute to high-level projects nationwide. Whether you are returning to the Nashville area, deepening your community roots, or seeking a long-term leadership path closer to the people and place that matter most, this role gives you the room, resources, and support to build something lasting.
What You’ll Do
- With the support of your Team Leader and our Reporting Center Manager, you will help grow KPFF’s structural engineering group in the Nashville market, expand the office’s local presence, client base, and long-term impact.

- Strengthen and expand client relationships by identifying new opportunities, securing work, and positioning KPFF for continued growth, both locally and nationally
- Provide technical and project leadership across a range of structural systems, materials, project types, and delivery methods, from early planning through construction.
- Help shape office culture, team processes, and long-term strategy while connecting the Nashville office with KPFF’s regional and national resources, expertise, and leadership network.
Our purpose is to build relationships and community through engineering excellence—empowering people to achieve their personal and professional goals while delivering exceptional value to our clients.

Senior Level Group Leader Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level group leader job?
Employers hiring at this level look for demonstrated ownership of significant projects or teams, a history of mentoring and developing others, and the ability to align group goals with broader organizational strategy. Candidates who can speak to measurable outcomes they drove, decisions they owned, and how they built team capability have a clear edge over those who describe responsibilities alone.
Which companies hire senior level group leaders?
Companies hiring senior level group leaders right now include Olsson, GFT, and KPFF Consulting Engineers, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from established organizations with complex operations that need experienced leaders to own functional groups and drive execution across departments or sites.
Are there remote senior level group leader jobs?
Yes, though most senior group leader roles involve meaningful on-site or operational presence. About 47% of senior level group leader openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the reality that leadership at this level often requires direct engagement with teams, stakeholders, and facilities. Hybrid arrangements are more common than fully remote for roles with direct reports.
What makes a group leader role senior level?
Senior level group leader roles are defined by scope, ownership, and leadership depth. Where mid-level roles execute against a plan, senior roles shape the plan, own the outcomes, and are accountable for group-wide performance. Senior group leaders typically mentor other leads, manage cross-functional relationships, resolve complex or escalated issues independently, and contribute to decisions that affect the broader organization.
Which industries hire the most senior level group leaders?
Senior Level group leader roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Science & Research, and Chemicals & Materials, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive demand at the senior level because they operate at scale, run complex multi-team functions, and require experienced leaders who can maintain performance and develop capability across large groups.
