INTRODUCTION
Position plans, directs and organizes all the activities to support the warehouse operations of the plant. Consistently plans warehouse resources and activities to meet company objectives. Responsible for the development of warehouse staff. Develops process and systems to maintain inventory accuracy and generates all required reports.

Essential Functions
- Supervises Warehouse associates in performance of their duties ensuring the expected standards of job performance, discipline and safety are met.
- Provides strategic oversight in the execution of daily warehouse operations, including the handling of goods receipts, goods issues, picklists, cycle counting, stock put away, logistics (inbound and Outbound), and quality control/assurance, utilizing the most appropriate materials handling and storage methods / equipment.
- Conducts activity to support the AVL Management Operating System including maintaining Y-Charts, driving key initiatives and leading Tier 3 weekly reviews.
- Conducts material movement and cycle count audits to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures.
- Provides associates with guidance, training and communication regarding job requirements, all OSHA safety guidelines, ISO procedures & Avient rules/expectations.
- Responsible for the general condition of the warehouse, shipping/receiving areas and yard areas in regard to container storage and overall cleanliness. Inspects for any improper warehousing of inventory & ensures the warehouse is always neat and clean.
- Monitors all warehouse activity for proper output, productivity, and safety processes (flag up, lock out tag out, etc.).
- Provides coaching to employees; participates in performance management discussions and in the selection process for staffing of future open positions.
- Establish warehouse strategies and organizational goals; develop/track key performance indicators (KPI); utilize root cause analysis to improve performance. Develop short- and long-term plans to increase the efficiency and optimization of warehousing functions and inventory (i.e. FIFO policies, cycle count processes): engage workforce in pursuing continuous improvement efforts: strive to achieve best in class status.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Operations Materials Management group for material master creations/updates/deletions, daily Warehouse Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), cycle counting, obsolete/surplus management, repairs/refurbishments, and running reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or related field; demonstrated professional warehousing experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
- 6 or more years of experience in Warehousing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Materials Management, or related field.

- Experience with S4 Extended Warehouse Management in SAP is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a good understanding of SAP best practices.
- Software Skills: Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, SAP.

Physical Demands
Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking and listening. Must be able to walk and use hands. Occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs. May occasionally be required to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds. Typically work is in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is loud. Generally, requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, and respiratory protection. Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine. May be exposed to working in extreme heat and humidity. May also be exposed on occasion to dust, or fumes. Requires working a flexible schedule.
