INTRODUCTION
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
The Heterogeneous Integration Group (HIG) sits within the Technology and Products Group (TPG). We are developing High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) solutions for AI and ML applications! We stack multiple DRAM chips on a high-speed memory controller using TSV (Through Silicon Via) technology, dramatically increasing memory density and bandwidth. Our designs span custom digital and RTL2GDS flows, and we are targeting the lowest power per bit in the industry.
Join us as a Senior Verification Engineer and contribute to modular, scalable verification solutions for next-generation HBM DRAM products! You will work independently within a multi-functional team of technical domain experts, spanning both IP-level and SoC-level verification. You will collaborate with Design Engineering, Product Engineering, and Business Units to complete the HBM verification roadmap. You will apply your solid understanding of testbench architecture, custom or SoC verification methodologies, and 2.5D & 3D package integration to evaluate issues, define solutions, and broaden your expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement verification plans and architecture collateral across IP-level and SoC-level verification for current and future HBM designs
- Support co-verification of the overall system and participate in customer interactions to gather feedback and provide recommendations for future HBM solutions
- Build and improve verification methodology components and GenAI applications aligned to HBM design cycles, broadening cross-disciplinary knowledge across custom digital and RTL2GDS flows
- Evaluate and debug pre-silicon and post-silicon issues in current HBM products, and contribute to exploration of new HBM verification architectures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 4+ years of relevant verification engineering experience, including over 3 years in digital (Verilog), analog (FastSpice), or mixed-signal verification (co-sims or real number modeling)
- Over 2 years working in custom design verification (schematic-based) or RTL design verification flows
- Ability to independently evaluate technical issues and define solutions, with good verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience, accompanied by more than 6 years in verification engineering roles
- One or more patents, trade secrets, or publications showcasing innovation and problem-solving in verification solutions
- Over 2 years in memory products using JEDEC specifications (preferably HBM), with experience building or improving verification flows

Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires your degree to directly relate to the Verification Engineer role. A degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related field strengthens your application. Avoid vague degree descriptions when preparing your employer's filing documents.
Use OFLC Wage Search before salary negotiations
Look up the prevailing wage for Verification Engineer roles by metro area using OFLC Wage Search. Your offer must meet or exceed this figure for LCA certification, so knowing the floor before you negotiate protects both you and your employer.
Search Migrate Mate for verified H-1B1 Singapore sponsoring employers
Migrate Mate filters Verification Engineer roles by employers with confirmed H-1B1 Singapore visa filing history, so you're not guessing which companies understand the consulate-direct process or have done it before.
Target semiconductor and EDA companies with established Singapore pipelines
Employers in hardware verification, ASIC design, and EDA tooling regularly hire from Singapore because the technical talent pool is deep there. Prioritize companies with Singapore offices or partnerships, as they're already familiar with the H-1B1 visa consulate process.
Confirm your employer will file the LCA before your consulate appointment
The Labor Condition Application must be DOL-certified before you attend your U.S. consulate interview in Singapore. Many first-time H-1B1 employers don't know this sequencing. Clarify the filing timeline during the offer stage, not after you've given notice.
Prepare O*NET documentation for specialty occupation evidence
If a consular officer questions whether Verification Engineer qualifies as a specialty occupation, your O*NET occupation profile showing a required bachelor's degree in a specific technical field is the fastest rebuttal. Download and keep it with your application package.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Verification Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation under the H-1B1 Singapore visa?
Yes. Verification Engineer positions typically require at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a directly related field, which meets the specialty occupation definition. The O*NET profile for this occupation supports that classification. Your employer documents this in the Labor Condition Application, and the consular officer confirms it at your interview.
How does the H-1B1 Singapore visa differ from H-1B for Verification Engineers?
The H-1B visa1 Singapore visa skips the lottery entirely and is processed at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore rather than through USCIS. The annual cap is 5,400 visas and has never been exhausted, so timing is far less critical than with H-1B. The trade-off is that H-1B1 doesn't allow dual intent, meaning you can't simultaneously pursue a green card while on H-1B1 status.
How do I find Verification Engineer employers who already understand H-1B1 Singapore sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lets you filter Verification Engineer roles by employers with confirmed H-1B1 Singapore visa filing history. That distinction matters because many U.S. companies sponsor H-1B but haven't navigated the consulate-direct H-1B1 process. Working with an employer already familiar with LCA sequencing and the Singapore consulate appointment process reduces delays significantly.
What happens to my H-1B1 status if my Verification Engineer contract ends between renewals?
H-1B1 status is employer-specific and tied to a certified LCA, so if your employment ends, your authorized status ends with it. You have a 60-day grace period to find a new employer who can file a new LCA and support a fresh H-1B1 application before you'd need to depart. Starting your job search before your contract ends is the most reliable way to avoid a gap.
Can my Verification Engineer employer transfer my H-1B1 if I change companies in the U.S.?
Unlike H-1B, the H-1B1 visa doesn't support portability between employers. Your new employer must file a fresh Labor Condition Application with DOL and you'll need a new consulate appointment in Singapore. Because H-1B1 is issued at the consulate rather than through USCIS, each change of employer requires going through the full consulate process again rather than a USCIS transfer petition.
