Healthcare Financial Analyst Jobs in Kentucky: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a healthcare financial analyst in Kentucky?
A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or healthcare administration is the standard entry point for this role in Kentucky. No state-issued license is required, but the Certified Healthcare Financial Professional credential from HFMA and the CPA license issued through the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy are widely valued by Kentucky health systems. Most analysts break in through hospital accounting, revenue cycle, or financial reporting positions at large Kentucky employers before moving into analytical roles.
How much do healthcare financial analysts make in Kentucky?
Healthcare financial analysts in Kentucky earn a median of about $81,660 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $49,930 for the lowest 10% to over $136,480 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire healthcare financial analysts in Kentucky?
Companies currently hiring healthcare financial analysts in Kentucky include Kelley Construction, Walgreens, and Blue &, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Kentucky's concentration of large integrated health systems and regional managed care plans means demand is consistent rather than seasonal, with finance teams that hire at multiple levels throughout the year.
Which Kentucky cities have the most healthcare financial analyst jobs?
Louisville, Owensboro, and Kentucky have the most healthcare financial analyst openings in Kentucky. Louisville leads because it is home to large integrated systems like Norton Healthcare and Baptist Health, while Lexington's openings are driven by UK HealthCare and its affiliated medical network, and Covington benefits from its proximity to major Cincinnati-area health employers that regularly post roles open to Kentucky-based candidates.
Are there remote healthcare financial analyst jobs in Kentucky?
Yes, and more than most healthcare roles, since financial analysis work is largely desk-based and data-driven. About 50% of healthcare financial analyst openings tied to Kentucky are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well-suited the role is for distributed work. Cost reporting, budgeting, and payer analysis functions are the most commonly offered as remote positions, while roles tied to on-site finance operations or executive teams tend to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a healthcare financial analyst in Kentucky with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior financial analyst, staff accountant, or revenue cycle coordinator role at a Kentucky hospital or health system, where you can build the cost report and payer contract experience that analyst positions require. Norton Healthcare, UK HealthCare, and Baptist Health all hire new graduates into financial operations and accounting roles that feed into analyst tracks. Earning the CHFP credential early or completing an HFMA student membership program signals commitment and gives candidates without direct experience a concrete edge.
