The most realistic entry path is applying for a staff auditor or audit associate role, which Kentucky employers such as Humana, regional accounting firms, and state agencies consistently hire at the new-graduate level. An active pursuit of the CPA exam or a passed section or two gives candidates a measurable edge, and transitioning from roles such as bookkeeper, accounts payable specialist, or budget analyst is a common lateral move into auditing.
