Staff Accountant

The RoleWe're looking for a Staff Accountant to support accounting operations across our restaurant group. Reporting to the Controller, you'll keep the general ledger accurate, support the month-end close, and handle location-level accounting across a multi-unit, high-volume environment. You'll work closely with our VP Finance, Senior Accountant, and the rest of the finance team, and with operations managers at each location.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries, and maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Reconcile daily sales reports and POS data across multiple locations
- Review and analyze location-level P&Ls for accuracy and variances
- Review and code invoices, and ensure proper expense allocation across entities and locations
- Support weekly inventory counts and reconcile inventory results to the books
- Prepare and file city and state sales tax returns
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, including supporting schedules and documentation
- Answer financial questions from operations managers
- Meet all reporting deadlines on a 13-period (4-week) fiscal calendar
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 2–5 years of accounting experience; restaurant, hospitality, or multi-unit retail preferred
- Experience with accounting software such as Restaurant365, QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Sage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple locations and deadlines at once
