Hris Consultant Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a hris consultant in Tennessee?
Most hris consultant roles in Tennessee require a bachelor's degree in human resources, information technology, or business administration. Tennessee does not issue a state license for this role, so employers rely on platform certifications such as Workday Pro or Oracle HCM Cloud credentials, which you can earn through vendor training programs. Gaining experience in HR operations or IT support within a Tennessee healthcare system, manufacturer, or logistics company is the most direct path into a consulting role.
Which companies hire hris consultants in Tennessee?
Employers hiring hris consultants in Tennessee right now include Tennessee Board of Regents, Baptist Memorial Health Care, and Humana, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Tennessee's concentration of large healthcare networks, auto manufacturers, and distribution companies means steady demand for consultants who can configure and maintain enterprise HR platforms.
Which Tennessee cities have the most hris consultant jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Columbia have the most hris consultant openings in Tennessee. Nashville leads because of its dense cluster of healthcare headquarters, corporate offices, and professional services firms, while Memphis benefits from major logistics and distribution employers, and smaller markets appear on the list where anchor manufacturers or regional health systems have large HR technology teams.
Are there remote hris consultant jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 47% of hris consultant openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the work, including configuration, testing, reporting, and user training, can be done outside the office. System implementation phases that require on-site collaboration with HR and IT teams are the most likely to carry an in-person requirement.
How can I get hired as a hris consultant in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from an HR coordinator or IT support role into an HRIS analyst position at a large Tennessee employer such as a regional hospital network or a manufacturing company with a dedicated HR technology team. Earning a Workday or Oracle HCM student certification, available through vendor training portals, signals platform fluency before you have hands-on project experience. Many Nashville-area healthcare systems and staffing firms also post junior HRIS analyst openings that treat the role as a structured entry point into consulting.
Where can I find and apply to hris consultant jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to hris consultant jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings. Search the listings, identify the roles that fit your background and platform experience, and apply directly to the ones that match.
