Interventional Radiologist Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a interventional radiologist in Texas?
To practice as an interventional radiologist in Texas you must hold an active medical license issued by the Texas Medical Board, which requires completing medical school, an accredited diagnostic radiology residency, and an interventional radiology fellowship. After training, you apply to the Texas Medical Board for licensure and must meet continuing medical education requirements to maintain it. Board certification in interventional radiology through the American Board of Radiology strengthens your candidacy at Texas employers.
How much do interventional radiologists make in Texas?
Interventional radiologists in Texas earn a median of about $319,320 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $77,270 for the lowest 10% to over $503,900 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire interventional radiologists in Texas?
Employers hiring interventional radiologists in Texas right now include Baylor Scott & White Health and United Vein & Vascular Centers, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of large academic health systems, regional hospital networks, and freestanding vascular and oncology centers means consistent openings across the state throughout the year.
Which Texas cities have the most interventional radiologist jobs?
Round Rock, Dallas, and Houston have the most interventional radiologist openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense cluster of Level I trauma centers, cancer programs, and cardiovascular institutes, while Dallas and San Antonio generate steady demand through large integrated health systems and growing academic medical campuses that serve extensive regional patient populations.
Are there remote interventional radiologist jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're rare. Interventional radiology is a hands-on procedural specialty requiring direct patient contact and sterile suite access, so most positions are fully on-site. About 20% of interventional radiologist openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those roles are almost exclusively in teleradiology reading, procedure planning consultation, or administrative medical director functions.
How can I get hired as a interventional radiologist in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a Texas-based IR fellowship, as most large Texas health systems including UT Southwestern, Houston Methodist, and Baylor Scott and White operate accredited programs that transition directly into attending roles. New fellows should apply to early-career positions labeled IR attending or assistant professor at academic centers. Obtaining Texas Medical Board licensure before fellowship completion and pursuing CAQ eligibility in vascular and interventional radiology gives candidates a concrete hiring edge.
Where can I find and apply to interventional radiologist jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to interventional radiologist jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings from hospitals, health systems, and specialty practices across the state. Find the roles that fit your training and preferred location and apply directly.
