Clinical Trial Associate Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical trial associate in Texas?
Most clinical trial associate positions in Texas require a bachelor's degree in a life science, nursing, or health-related field, followed by entry-level experience in clinical research or a related healthcare setting. Texas does not issue a state-specific license for this role, but employers strongly value the Certified Clinical Research Associate credential offered by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals. Academic medical centers across Houston and Dallas frequently hire candidates who complete clinical research certificate programs at Texas universities.
Which companies hire clinical trial associates in Texas?
Employers hiring clinical trial associates in Texas right now include Baylor College of Medicine, Medpace, and Baylor Scott & White Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of large academic cancer centers, contract research organizations, and pharmaceutical headquarters makes it one of the more consistent markets for clinical trial staffing in the country.
Which Texas cities have the most clinical trial associate jobs?
Houston, Irving, and Austin account for the most clinical trial associate openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense cluster of oncology research institutions and the Texas Medical Center, while Dallas and Austin draw demand from contract research organizations and the growing life sciences corridors in both metros.
Are there remote clinical trial associate jobs in Texas?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the trial phase and sponsor requirements. About 5% of clinical trial associate openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the role's mix of site-based and administrative work. Regulatory document review, data reconciliation, and sponsor communication tend to be the most remote-compatible functions, while site monitoring visits remain on-site by nature.
How can I get hired as a clinical trial associate in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a clinical research coordinator role at a Texas hospital or academic medical center, where hands-on trial experience is built under supervision. The Texas Medical Center in Houston and UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas both run research coordinator programs that train candidates without prior clinical trial backgrounds. Lateral moves from roles like clinical data associate, regulatory affairs assistant, or study coordinator give candidates a strong foundation, and completing the ACRP Clinical Research Associate certification before applying gives an edge over other entry-level applicants.
Where can I find and apply to clinical trial associate jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to clinical trial associate jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring across the state. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
