The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Position Summary
The intern will join the Corporate Technology & Staffs team and support modern data engineering solutions for manufacturing, quality, engineering, analytics, and AI/ML initiatives. The role provides hands-on experience with enterprise-scale datasets, cloud data platforms, data pipelines, dashboards, and data foundations that enable industrial analytics and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark.
Extract, transform, validate, and prepare data for analytics and reporting.
Support Databricks and cloud-based data engineering projects.
Build dashboards and data visualizations to communicate insights.
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
Document solutions and present project results at the end of the internship.
Education & Experience - Required
Student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
Understanding of databases, data structures, problem-solving techniques, communication, and teamwork.
Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
Be willing to work at the posted job location
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with PySpark or Apache Spark, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
Interest in data engineering, analytics, manufacturing, and AI/ML.

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
