INTRODUCTION
The Pricing team for Consumer and Small Business within US Retail Bank and Citigold provides market intelligence, pricing strategy and analytics for Consumer and Small Business deposit products. Core products include Checking, Savings, Money Market and Certificate of Deposit accounts. The pricing team applies a disciplined analytical decision-making process, and focus on driving profit and market share growth. The Pricing Exception and Controls Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for the management of pricing exception processes, pricing controls including driving the governance around Pricing for both rates and fees, and the development of product and pricing strategies in coordination with the Product Management, Finance and Treasury.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and improve control reporting and activities within the Pricing team
- Support current and future Pricing Strategies and work with a host of internal partners to deliver the necessary controls required to launch Pricing Strategies
- Manage the day-to-day approvals and processes for Pricing Exceptions
- Assist in development and analysis of strategic product and pricing roadmaps, enhancements and development to drive Deposit growth and revenues. This includes analyzing competitive industry landscapes to identify relative trends, threats, and opportunities for pricing
- Participate in day-to-day pricing management for core products
- Execute pricing that supports the client value propositions, positioning, segmentation, and competitive differentiation to achieve preferred status as a partner to Citi clients
- Provide informal guidance or on-the-job training to new team members
- Contribute to the achievement of Deposit targets and revenue performance as well as identify and execute opportunities to deliver the business plan
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of experience with financial services products/pricing, in Business controls, Operational Risk and/or internal audit; Ideal candidates will have both strategic and tactical abilities and knowledge on deposit laws and regulations
- Degree in quantitative field such as finance, economics, business, or similar preferred
- Strong ability to communicate/present ideas and plans verbally and in writing
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment while carrying multiple projects at any given time
- Understanding key revenue and expense drivers for Deposits and financial planning basics
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Visual Basic skills
- Experience with SAS, SQL, Tableau or Python a plus
- Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
Education:
Bachelor’s degree/University degree. Master’s degree preferred
