Entry Level Legal Intern Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level legal intern job?
Focus on what entry level employers actually screen for: a writing sample, demonstrated research skills, and any hands-on experience from a law school clinic, moot court, or undergraduate pre-law program. Tailor your resume to highlight coursework in contracts, civil procedure, or legal writing. Applying early in a hiring cycle and following application instructions precisely gives candidates at this stage a real edge.
Which companies hire entry level legal interns?
Companies hiring entry level legal interns right now include Law Offices of Sabrina Li, P.C., Gimlet Labs, and Bank of China USA, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, and nonprofit legal aid organizations.
Are there remote entry level legal intern jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles still make up the majority at this level. About 13% of entry level legal intern openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, concentrated in areas like document review, legal research, and compliance support where work can be completed independently without being physically present in an office.
Are these new grad legal intern jobs?
Yes, the roles listed here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior positions. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or clinic work in place of professional history, or asks for a writing sample rather than a list of prior employers. Look for language like "no prior experience required" or "current law students welcome" as clear signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level legal interns?
Entry Level legal intern roles concentrate in Law & Legal Services, Technology & Software, and Science & Research, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Those sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they carry significant regulatory, contractual, or compliance workloads that create consistent demand for research and document support from early-career candidates.
