Mid Level Licensed Therapist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level licensed therapist job?
Lead with concrete clinical ownership: highlight caseloads you managed independently, treatment modalities you applied without close supervision, and outcomes you tracked. Tailor your resume to show the specific population or setting the employer serves. Mid level roles are filled by candidates who demonstrate they can step in and contribute from day one, so make your direct experience unmistakable in your application materials.
Which companies hire mid level licensed therapists?
Companies hiring mid level licensed therapists right now include Centerstone, Ensign Services, and Sea Mar Community Health Centers, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of outpatient group practices, behavioral health networks, hospital systems, and community mental health organizations that need clinicians who can work autonomously across established caseloads.
Are there remote mid level licensed therapist jobs?
Yes, though availability depends on licensure portability across states. About 18% of mid level licensed therapist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in telehealth platforms and group practices operating across multiple states. Clinicians with licenses in more than one state tend to see the broadest remote opportunities at this level.
How do I move up to a mid level licensed therapist role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built on demonstrated independent practice: completing supervised hours toward full licensure, deepening competency in a specific modality or population, and taking ownership of a caseload without needing frequent clinical check-ins. Employers look for evidence of consistent outcomes, reliable documentation, and the ability to handle complex cases, not just volume of time served.
Which industries hire the most mid level licensed therapists?
Mid Level licensed therapist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Consulting & Professional Services, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they rely on clinicians who can sustain full caseloads, bill independently, and contribute to program quality without requiring intensive supervisory resources.
