Mid Level Litigation Attorney Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level litigation attorney job?
Lead with the complexity of matters you have handled independently, not just the volume. Highlight depositions you took first-chair, motions you drafted without significant revision, and any client contact you managed directly. Tailor your resume to show ownership of outcomes, and make sure your writing sample reflects your current skill level, not work from your first year.
Which companies hire mid level litigation attorneys?
Companies hiring mid level litigation attorneys right now include Jobot, Epic, and Morrison Foerster, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of Am Law firms building out their associate ranks, regional firms replacing departing seniors, and in-house legal teams that want attorneys who can handle disputes without heavy outside counsel supervision.
Are there remote mid level litigation attorney jobs?
Yes, though fully remote roles are less common in litigation than in transactional practice given court appearances and depositions. About 37% of mid level litigation attorney openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common at firms that allow associates to work from home on research and drafting days while appearing in-person for hearings.
How do I move up to a mid level litigation attorney role?
The move from junior to mid level happens when you shift from executing tasks to owning outcomes. Build toward taking first-chair depositions, managing discovery strategy independently, and producing work product that requires minimal partner revision. Attorneys who reach mid level fastest tend to seek out complex commercial or contested matters early, build a specialty, and demonstrate measurable judgment on case decisions, not just diligence.
Which industries hire the most mid level litigation attorneys?
Mid Level litigation attorney roles concentrate in Law & Legal Services, Staffing & Recruiting, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors tend to generate sustained litigation demand through regulatory exposure, contract disputes, and employment matters, which creates consistent openings for attorneys who can handle substantial matters with limited supervision.
