Digital Trading and Investing Product Management - Analyst

Summary
We are looking for a digital product management professional, with a background in financial services to join our Digital Trading and Investing Team. A successful candidate will possess knowledge of and interest in the mutual fund, ETF, insurance, and alternative investment product space, and experience working with key organizational partners, such as Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and Technology. Key skills for the role include strong written and verbal communications, digital product development, project management, and problem-solving.

We are seeking an individual that can have strong empathy for a customer’s overall financial planning needs, and will design customer-focused solutions, based on customer feedback, competitive trends, and business results.
The individual will assist in advancing our digital trading and investing strategy by helping shape and deliver a more differentiated, needs-based product offering. The role will focus on developing solutions, tools, and customer education that improve the end-to-end investing journey and strengthen the Firm’s competitive position in the digital investing landscape. Candidate must be able to strategically assess the needs of self-directed investors, come up with solutions, assess the cost, benefit and risk of potential opportunities, define business specifications, and work in an agile team to manage the rollout of projects.
Responsibilities for this role include:
Write user stories to develop new digital trading and investing products or enhance existing digital products to improve customer engagement and retention, and business reporting, and tracking, then drive implementation.
Work closely with Technology to design new product solutions, manage the rollout of products and services in a planned and timely manner.
Research and conduct detailed analysis of customer demand and market opportunity, understand competitive landscape to identify product enhancement opportunities, build the business case, and develop success metrics for the product.
Lead product development from concept to implementation in an agile project environment. Manage the product development process, including coming up with new ideas to solve customer problems, defining requirements, determining optimal positioning and targeting, as well as the marketing and sales approach.
Keep the pulse of the competitive environment and wealth management industry trends. Work with Data Analytics to gather critical customer, industry, and business data to support strategic decisions.
Collaborate with Marketing, Design and Technology to deliver best-in-class user experiences of new or enhanced products and services.
Act as a subject matter expert in digital trading and investing products for the organization.
Manage vendor relationships. This may include creating a joint strategy with the vendor to enable growth, planning marketing activities, finding solutions to customer issues, and developing new products with the vendor.
Requirements
1+ years of experience within financial services, either in product management, project management or similar role.
Proven ability to think strategically and creatively to design solutions that meet clients’ needs through both online and off-line channels.
Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across functions within an organization.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concept to cross functional partners and senior audience.
Customer empathy is a must.
Experience with digital customer experiences is a plus. Knowledge of financial products such as life insurance, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, stocks and bonds is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously. Experience with efforts such as product strategy design, product launches, and regulatory change implementation is preferred.
Experience working with cross functional teams, with partners such as User Experience Design, Technology, Marketing, Operations.
Understanding of the Agile development framework.
Education, Certifications and Training
BA/BS in business, finance, management, marketing or related field preferred.
Experience with Agile methodology and tools used in agile project management (e.g., JIRA, Confluence) is a plus.
Series 7 and industry designations, such as CRPC, CISP, CFP are a plus.
