Manufacturing Engineer Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a manufacturing engineer job in Jacksonville?
Focus on Jacksonville's strongest hiring sectors: defense contracting, naval shipbuilding along the St. Johns River corridor, aerospace suppliers near Cecil Commerce Center, and consumer products manufacturers on the Westside. Candidates with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Defense Contract Management Agency experience have a clear edge locally. Networking through the Northeast Florida chapter of SME and targeting Tier 1 defense suppliers gives you direct access to where most openings actually are.
Which companies hire manufacturing engineers in Jacksonville?
Companies currently hiring manufacturing engineers in Jacksonville include Safariland, Vaero, and Collabera, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Jacksonville's employer mix leans heavily toward defense primes and their supply chains, naval maintenance contractors, and large-scale industrial manufacturers with operations tied to the Port of Jacksonville.
Are there remote manufacturing engineer jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, but manufacturing engineer work is largely hands-on and on-site by nature, so fully remote roles are uncommon. About 0% of manufacturing engineer openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those roles tend to cover process documentation, supplier quality management, or CAD-intensive design work that can be done off the shop floor.
How can I get a manufacturing engineer job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is landing a manufacturing technician or process engineer associate role with a defense contractor or industrial manufacturer on the Westside or at Cecil Commerce Center. Employers here regularly hire new graduates from Florida State College at Jacksonville and UNF's engineering programs. Internships with naval maintenance contractors or defense suppliers convert to full-time offers more reliably than cold applications, and familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks makes candidates stand out at the entry level.
