ByVerTek is seeking a highly organized and technology-oriented Construction Coordinator to support the successful execution of our outside plant (OSP) construction projects. This position will provide operational, administrative, and field support to the Assistant Director of Construction while working closely with Project Management, subcontractors, and other internal teams.
The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing field operations with administrative responsibilities, has strong attention to detail, and can quickly learn and effectively use technology and construction management systems. This individual should be proactive, resourceful, and comfortable identifying issues, coordinating solutions, and keeping project information accurate and up to date.
What You'll Do
- Support the Assistant Director of Construction with the coordination and oversight of ongoing construction activities and initiatives
- Coordinate with Project Managers, subcontractors, field personnel, and internal teams to support the successful execution of construction projects
- Monitor construction progress and identify scheduling, resource, quality, or other issues that may impact project completion
- Work directly with subcontractors to coordinate project activities, obtain updates, address questions, and ensure required information is provided
- Conduct site visits as needed to monitor construction progress, workmanship, safety, and compliance with project requirements
- Review field conditions and construction activities to identify discrepancies, deficiencies, and potential project risks, and communicate concerns to the appropriate team members
- Assist with resolving construction-related issues and coordinate follow-up actions to ensure timely resolution
- Utilize Vitruvi regularly to maintain accurate construction and project information, monitor project activity, and coordinate with subcontractors and Project Management
- Maintain accurate construction documentation, including project records, permits, inspections, field reports, photos, and other required documentation
- Support Project Managers and the Construction team with project tracking, reporting, data collection, and administrative requirements
- Assist with tracking construction schedules, materials, equipment, and other project resources
- Monitor compliance with company standards, client requirements, approved plans and specifications, safety requirements, and applicable regulations
- Assist with quality control by identifying deficiencies, coordinating corrective actions, and following up on outstanding items
- Participate in project and construction meetings and provide updates, documentation, and follow-up as needed
- Assist with project closeout activities, ensuring required construction documentation and deliverables are complete and accurate
- Generate and maintain reports and project-related information using company systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field required
- 3–5 years of experience in OSP telecommunications construction, construction coordination, project coordination, or a related field
- Working knowledge of construction practices associated with aerial and underground outside plant telecommunications infrastructure
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, system maps, drawings, and related project documentation
- Experience working with contractors, subcontractors, field personnel, or construction teams
- Demonstrated ability to learn and effectively utilize technology, software platforms, and project management systems
- Experience with construction management or project management software preferred; experience with Vitruvi is a plus
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
- Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate project information and documentation
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment and manage multiple priorities
- Ability and willingness to travel to project sites and conduct field visits as required
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record acceptable to the Company's insurance requirements
- OSHA 10 certification required or ability to obtain within a specified period of employment
- Bilingual English/Spanish is an asset
- CAPM, PMP, or other construction/project management certification is a plus
