Core responsibilities
- Operate CNC mills/lathes to meet blueprint and specification requirements.
- Execute complex machine setups using provided setup sheets and tool lists.
- Interpret drawings and blueprints to determine optimal machining approach.
- Run manual machines (mills, lathes, drill presses, band saw) for secondary operations.
- Perform first‑article and routine in‑process inspections with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot issues; apply corrective actions to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Collaborate with engineering to improve processes for quality and efficiency.
- Mentor CNC Machinist I team members; foster a learning culture.
- Complete routine maintenance; uphold safety policies and 5S standards.
- Escalate equipment/production concerns quickly and clearly.
- Document production, material usage, and inspection data with accuracy.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (vocational machining training preferred).
- 2–4 years of CNC machine operation experience.
- Proficient blueprint reading and precision measurement skills.
- Detail‑oriented with strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
- Team player who can mentor junior machinists effectively.
Schedule & environment
- Full‑time with standard shift hours; overtime may be required to meet production demand.
- Manufacturing floor environment with active machinery and production noise.
- Regular standing, repetitive motions, and lifting up to 30 lbs for extended periods.
Compensation & benefits
- $22.00–$30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- Shared‑cost health care, paid holidays, and paid time off.
