Job Title: Manufacturing Technician B
Briggs & Stratton - Power Group
As a Manufacturing Technician B your goal is to use your technical expertise, to be the go-to person for troubleshooting and repairing production equipment in your area. You'll also be responsible for setting up various production machines to ensure top-notch quality products are manufactured.
You will do this by:
- Maintaining mechanical, electrical and hydraulics systems for a variety of equipment
- Performing various operations to alter and repair tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, gauges and guarding
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment; performing preventative maintenance
- Being responsible for statistical process charting, interpretation, and trend-analysis in order to perform process or equipment adjustments to bring parts into specification
- Training employees; assigning and directing work; providing feedback to supervisor regarding employee work performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Performing other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of 1.5 years’ relevant working experience to include Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic and Pneumatic skills
Additional Knowledge & Skills:
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
- Must be able to use computers for email communications and data entry for quality/production systems

Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- May be required to lift or carry products, parts, and/or other materials of various sizes and weights. (Frequently 5 – 25 pounds), (Occasionally 25 – 75 pounds), (Rarely greater than 75 pounds)
- Ability to stand and/or walk constantly over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
- Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
- Ability to use power/vibrating tools over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
- Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
- Exposure to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours)
Position Description
Uses technical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair plant production equipment. Performs duties associated with the setup of a variety of production equipment to produce quality products.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintaining structures, electrical systems, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, hydraulics systems for a variety of equipment
- Performing various machining or bench operations to alter and repair tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, gauges and guarding
- Troubleshooting and repairing equipment; performing preventative maintenance
- Being responsible for statistical process charting, interpretation, and trend-analysis in order to perform process or equipment adjustments to bring parts into specification
- Performing other duties as assigned
Job Skills Requirements
- Intermediate troubleshooting skills using mechanical, electrical, hydraulic knowledge
- Good teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer skills
- Ability to operate forklift
- Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Education
High School diploma in equivalent education and experience
