The Maintenance Technician serves a key role in Federal’s ability to satisfy the needs of our customers by maintaining the production equipment and production facility. Additionally, the position will be called upon to lead and be involved in a variety of projects focused on continual improvement, process capability, equipment sourcing, safety and other areas of impact. Flexibility, productivity, trouble shooting, preventive maintenance, scheduled maintenance and attention to detail are hallmarks of this position. The Maintenance Technician is expected to approach their work with: pride of workmanship, integrity, and a highly productive work ethic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
1. Maintains function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing and conducting preventive maintenance programs; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.
2. Improves function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by studying performance results; identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.
3. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations.
4. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
5. Meets maintenance operational standards by contributing maintenance information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems.
6. Maintain adequate inventories of tools, supplies and parts to accurately repair all equipment.
7. Perform maintenance procedures on machines, electrical, ventilation, heating, plumbing, alarm systems, and conduct repairs when necessary.
8. Provides a workplace recognized serious hazards and comply with standards, rules, and regulation issues under OSHA.
9. Assist employees with proper training of production equipment and machines.
10. Perform facility maintenance and cleaning of grounds, parking lots, fencing, building facilities to include minor repairs.
11. Assist in the installation and calibration of manufacturing equipment.
12. Maintain a organized and clean worksite and station.
13. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and/or Skills required
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 1-3 Years of Electrical or Mechanical Trade Education.
· Maintenance Journeyman certification, preferred.
· 2+ years Manufacturing Plant Maintenance experience required
· Ability to communicate with machine tool manufacturers for trouble-shooting and diagnostics.
· Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, electrical schematics and control circuits.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and spatial relations.
· Minimum 1-3 years in Maintenance field.
· High School Diploma.
