Manufacturing Technician Jobs in Memphis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a manufacturing technician job in Memphis?
Focus your search on Memphis's largest hiring corridors: the Frayser and Raleigh industrial districts for automotive and consumer goods roles, and the South Memphis port and rail zone for logistics-tied production work. Candidates with hands-on experience in quality control, CNC operation, or automated line maintenance stand out locally. Targeting employers in food and beverage manufacturing and medical device assembly, two growing segments in the Memphis metro, also broadens your options considerably.
Which companies hire manufacturing technicians in Memphis?
Employers hiring manufacturing technicians in Memphis right now include Jabil, Hyosung, and Radians, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Memphis's employer mix leans heavily toward automotive suppliers, consumer packaged goods producers, and distribution-adjacent manufacturers tied to the city's FedEx-driven logistics infrastructure.
Are there remote manufacturing technician jobs in Memphis?
Yes, though they are rare for this role because most manufacturing technician work is hands-on and tied to a physical plant or production floor. About 0% of manufacturing technician openings tied to Memphis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to involve quality documentation, technical support coordination, or equipment monitoring rather than direct line work.
How can I get a manufacturing technician job in Memphis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Memphis is through production associate or line technician roles at the city's food and beverage manufacturers and automotive component suppliers, both of which regularly hire entry-level candidates and promote from within. Southwest Tennessee Community College's manufacturing technology programs have direct relationships with local employers, and completing a short-run apprenticeship or co-op there signals seriousness to Memphis hiring managers. Forklift certification and basic OSHA-10 training give entry-level applicants a concrete edge.
