A Day In The Life
As an Associate Account Director, you will serve as the primary strategic partner for your clients on a day-to-day basis, owning the narrative around performance, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring all marketing efforts ladder up to business objectives. A successful candidate is a strong cross-channel marketer and communicator who can confidently translate data into insights, guide internal teams, and build trust with clients. This is a critical role in ensuring accounts are not only running efficiently, but driving meaningful business impact. As an Associate Account Director (AAD), you will act as the day-to-day strategic lead for CPG clients, ensuring marketing efforts are aligned to revenue growth across DTC, retail, and Amazon ecosystems—not just individual channel performance. You will work closely with client stakeholders across eCommerce, retail, and brand teams, helping navigate tradeoffs between channels, product launches, and campaign strategy. This role requires comfort discussing channel mix, retail dynamics, Amazon performance, and omnichannel measurement. You’ll partner with Project Managers to ensure execution stays on track, while collaborating with the Account Director to refine quarterly strategy and long-term growth plans.
Responsibilities
- Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes
- Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department
- Lead weekly client calls on larger accounts; support PM-led calls on smaller accounts — own the performance narrative either way
- Translate Power Circuit roadmap outputs into weekly account priorities; flag when execution is drifting from the strategy
- Track performance across DTC, retail media, and Amazon ecosystems; identify cross-channel dynamics and surface insights to the client and AD
- Coordinate paid, SEO, content, influencer, and creative teams around a unified account strategy
- Advise on channel mix and investment allocation across DTC, retail, and Amazon; flag when channels are cannibalizing rather than reinforcing each other
- Support the AD on quarterly strategy, renewal prep, and service expansion conversations
- Build and maintain strong client relationships; contribute to ≥90% retention across your accounts
- Work in Iris and nova daily; use performance data to surface issues before clients raise them; maintain Pulse cadence at 100%
Role Requirements
- 4–7 years in CPG, eCommerce, or retail marketing, with experience managing client relationships day-to-day
- Familiar with the CPG channel landscape: DTC, retail media, and Amazon basics — ASIN architecture, sponsored vs. organic, retail partner dynamics
- Understands omnichannel measurement at a working level — knows what MMM and incrementality testing are and when they matter
- Cross-channel fluency across paid, SEO, content, and influencer — you don't need to be an expert in all of them, but you need to know when something's off
- Comfortable presenting to director and VP-level stakeholders, including brand-strong clients who have opinions that predate the data
- Strong written and verbal communication; can translate complex channel dynamics into a clear client narrative

Mid Level Marketing Account Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level marketing account manager job?
Position your experience around client ownership, not just task execution. Highlight campaigns you led from brief to results, accounts you retained or grew, and decisions you made without close supervision. In your resume and cover letter, lead with measurable outcomes like revenue retained, client satisfaction scores, or campaign performance. Employers at this level want evidence you can run accounts independently, so make that the center of your story.
Which companies hire mid level marketing account managers?
Companies hiring mid level marketing account managers right now include Power Digital Marketing, Relay, and TikTok, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, hiring comes from a mix of full-service agencies, in-house brand teams, and marketing technology companies that need account managers capable of owning client relationships without senior oversight on every decision.
Are there remote mid level marketing account manager jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are widely available at this level. About 88% of mid level marketing account manager openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how client-facing marketing work has adapted to distributed teams. On-site roles tend to cluster at agencies and brands where in-person client or team collaboration is built into the workflow.
How do I move up to a mid level marketing account manager role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built on demonstrated ownership. Start by taking full responsibility for smaller accounts or campaign workstreams, documenting your results, and asking to lead client calls rather than just support them. Deeper fluency in areas like paid media, content strategy, or CRM platforms signals readiness. Employers recognize the shift when you can show that accounts improved under your management, not just that you were present.
Which industries hire the most mid level marketing account managers?
Mid Level marketing account manager roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Technology & Software, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they run high-volume client relationships, ongoing campaign retainers, or complex brand programs that require an experienced account manager who can work independently and grow the business.
