As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, analysis, and optimization of components across our gas power portfolio. You will collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to deliver high-quality solutions, drive product upgrades, and ensure our designs meet rigorous performance and safety standards. This role requires a balance of technical ownership, innovative problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Analysis: Execute mechanical design and analysis (stress, modal, lifing) for assigned components in gas turbines, steam, generators, and accessory systems.
Technical Stewardship: Take ownership of mechanical hardware; perform validation testing; and evaluate designs for factors like thermal growth, manufacturing variation, and assembly stack-up to ensure optimal product behavior.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering experts, manufacturing, and sourcing teams to optimize sub-systems and components.
Continuous Improvement: Lead root cause analyses (RCA) to improve reliability, quality, and yield. Apply Lean principles to streamline processes and drive innovation.
Project Delivery: Manage milestones through formal/informal technical reviews, ensuring compliance with NPI processes and design practices.
Mentorship: Foster a collaborative environment by coaching team members and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Principal and Chief Engineers.
What You’ll Bring - Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant engineering experience.

Additional 1-2 years of relevant engineering experience
Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Technical proficiency in engineering software (ANSYS, NX) and programming languages (Python, Excel VBA) for data analysis.
A "Lean" mindset, familiarity with AI-driven tools, and a passion for innovative design.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a collaborative, inclusive, and fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, with a transparent approach to project management and problem-solving.
