ABOUT SALESFORCE
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all. Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
THE EXPERIENCE
The Senior Social Media Manager role sits within the Commerce Product Marketing team at Salesforce - a group of event, content, web, and product marketers united around bringing the Agentforce Commerce story to life. In this hands-on individual contributor role, you'll own global social strategy while also being the person who makes it happen day-to-day, from designing posts to scaling employee advocacy. This is a hybrid role with three days in office each week.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING
- Own end-to-end social media strategy and execution for Agentforce Commerce - including B2C Commerce, B2B Commerce, Order Management, and Point of Sale - driving brand awareness and product adoption across LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Design and produce social content using Figma and basic video editing, managing the full content calendar through Sprout Social and amplifying key posts through organic and paid boosts.
- Lead and scale the employee advocacy program, equipping Salesforce leaders and employees to share their voices and extend brand reach across channels.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to support live events, cover Cyber Week social activity, and use data and community insights to continuously test, learn, and improve performance.
YOU'RE OUR PERSON IF...
- You have 7+ years of experience independently leading social media programs that drive measurable business results.
- You're equally comfortable setting big-picture strategy and executing it yourself - designing in Figma, publishing in Sprout Social, and editing video without needing a team around you.
- You're a strong storyteller with excellent written communication skills and a track record of creating content that resonates with global audiences.
- You build trust easily - with senior leaders and cross-functional partners alike - and can manage competing priorities without losing attention to detail.
- You're available to provide social media coverage during Thanksgiving weekend and Cyber Week - this role requires active support during the holiday commerce season, which is one of our highest-traffic periods.
EVEN BETTER IF...
- You have experience growing employee advocacy or thought leadership programs at scale.
- You've managed external creative or media agencies.
- You have a working knowledge of the technology or commerce industry landscape.

Media Director Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a media director job in Chicago?
The strongest path is targeting Chicago's dense cluster of advertising agencies, integrated marketing firms, and media companies in River North and the Loop, where most director-level openings are concentrated. Candidates with hands-on experience in programmatic buying, media planning, or cross-channel campaign management stand out. Building relationships through Chicago-specific industry groups and agency networks also gives you a real edge in this market.
Which companies hire media directors in Chicago?
Chicago media director roles are posted by Salesforce, Accenture, and Goldman Sachs and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's mix of global holding-company agencies, regional independents, and in-house brand teams across consumer goods and financial services creates consistent year-round demand.
Are there remote media director jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though the role is often hybrid given the collaboration and client-facing demands it carries. About 50% of media director openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with fully remote positions more common at performance-marketing and digital-first firms. Strategy, reporting, and planning work tends to flex remotely, while campaign launches and agency reviews typically require in-person presence.
How can I get a media director job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up through a media planning or buying role at one of Chicago's many mid-size agencies or media shops, where internal promotion to director is common. Entry-level coordinators and media planners at River North and Loop agencies regularly advance within three to five years. Demonstrating fluency with programmatic platforms and showing ownership of campaign performance, even on smaller accounts, accelerates that progression in Chicago's agency market.
Which industries hire the most media directors in Chicago?
The sectors hiring the most media directors in Chicago are Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Chicago's role as a national hub for advertising, packaged goods brands, and financial services creates especially deep and recurring demand for senior media leadership across those sectors.
