Medical Writing Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a medical writing manager in Florida?
The path to a medical writing manager role in Florida starts with a degree in a life science, pharmacy, or health-related discipline, followed by several years of hands-on regulatory or clinical writing experience. Florida does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers in Tampa and Miami consistently favor candidates who hold the American Medical Writers Association certification. Progressing into management typically means leading a writing project team first, then stepping into a formal manager title within a pharmaceutical company or contract research organization.
Which companies hire medical writing managers in Florida?
Employers hiring medical writing managers in Florida right now include Florida International University, redsky, and Lockheed Martin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Florida's dense concentration of contract research organizations and pharmaceutical companies in the Tampa Bay and Miami corridors keeps sustained demand for this role across both established employers and mid-size biotech firms.
Which Florida cities have the most medical writing manager jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Naples have the most medical writing manager openings in Florida. Tampa drives the largest share because of its established cluster of contract research organizations and pharma regional offices, while Miami's strength in clinical trials and Latin American regulatory work sustains consistent demand, and Jacksonville's growing health system footprint adds openings at hospital-adjacent medical affairs teams.
Are there remote medical writing manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. Medical writing is inherently document-based, making it one of the more remote-compatible functions in the life sciences. About 0% of medical writing manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that pattern. Regulatory writing and submission coordination are the parts of the role most commonly performed fully remote, while team management and client-facing work often draw employers toward a hybrid expectation.
How can I get hired as a medical writing manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a clinical research associate, regulatory affairs specialist, or scientific editor role into a junior medical writer position first. Large Florida-based contract research organizations such as those headquartered in the Tampa Bay area run associate medical writer programs that do not require prior writing management experience. Building a portfolio of sample regulatory documents or scientific summaries and earning the American Medical Writers Association core curriculum certificate signals readiness and gives Florida hiring managers a concrete credential to evaluate.
Where can I find and apply to medical writing manager jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to medical writing manager jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings for this role. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and preferred location or work arrangement, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
