Entry Level Network Operations Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level network operations engineer job?
Focus on certifications like CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or Juniper JNCIA, which signal readiness to employers even without years of experience. Hands-on lab work, a home lab, or an internship demonstrates practical skills with routing, switching, and monitoring tools. Entry level postings often accept candidates who can show troubleshooting ability and familiarity with ticketing systems, even if professional experience is limited.
Which companies hire entry level network operations engineers?
Companies hiring entry level network operations engineers right now include Google, Leidos, and All Native, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring covers managed service providers, telecommunications carriers, government contractors, and enterprise IT departments that build out their network teams by developing junior talent from the ground up.
Are there remote entry level network operations engineer jobs?
Yes, though most entry level roles are on-site due to hands-on infrastructure requirements. About 29% of entry level network operations engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with remote positions more common at larger enterprises and managed service providers where monitoring and NOC work can be performed off-site.
Are these new grad network operations engineer jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad-friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and accepts internships, coursework labs, or a portfolio of personal projects in place of full-time work history. Look for language like 'entry level,' 'junior,' or 'recent graduates encouraged to apply' as clear signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level network operations engineers?
Entry Level network operations engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Artificial Intelligence, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026.
