Entry Level Safety Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level safety manager job?
Start by earning a relevant degree in occupational health, environmental science, or a related field, and pursue certifications like OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 to signal baseline competency. Internship experience in a safety role carries significant weight at this level. Tailoring your resume to highlight any hazard assessments, incident reporting, or compliance work, even from coursework or volunteer settings, gives you a real edge over candidates with generic backgrounds.
Which companies hire entry level safety managers?
Companies hiring entry level safety managers right now include Kiewit, Riverside Healthcare, and Google, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Both large industrial employers and mid-size contractors tend to hire at this level, especially those with active worksites that require dedicated safety oversight and compliance support.
Are there remote entry level safety manager jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles remain more common given the hands-on nature of safety work. About 7% of entry level safety manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, typically in roles focused on safety training coordination, compliance documentation, or program administration rather than direct field supervision.
Are these new grad safety manager jobs?
Yes, many of these listings are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates and candidates with little to no professional experience. A new grad-friendly posting typically accepts zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward requirements, and values a safety-focused degree or relevant certifications over an extensive work history.
Which industries hire the most entry level safety managers?
Entry Level safety manager roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Energy, and Construction & Real Estate, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because their operational environments, active construction sites, manufacturing floors, and logistics facilities, require consistent on-the-ground safety presence and compliance oversight.
