Entry Level Fuel Truck Driver Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level fuel truck driver job?
Start by obtaining a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement, which most entry level fuel truck driver positions require. Employers at this level prioritize a clean driving record, basic knowledge of fuel handling safety, and a willingness to complete on-the-job training. Completing a short CDL program or logging supervised driving hours through a vocational school gives candidates a clear edge over those without formal preparation.
Which companies hire entry level fuel truck drivers?
Companies hiring entry level fuel truck drivers right now include Great Lakes Petroleum, Shamrock Trading Corporation, and Plug Power, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Fuel distributors, energy companies, and logistics contractors tend to be the most active employers at this level, often offering paid training programs for candidates who meet the CDL and endorsement requirements.
Are there remote entry level fuel truck driver jobs?
Yes, though most fuel truck driver work is inherently on-site given the nature of the role. About 33% of entry level fuel truck driver openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve dispatch coordination, scheduling, or fleet support functions rather than direct driving duties.
Are these new grad fuel truck driver jobs?
Yes, many of the listings here are new grad and junior roles that welcome recent graduates and candidates with little to no professional experience. A new grad-friendly fuel truck driver posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts completed CDL training or vocational coursework in place of work history, and includes on-the-job mentorship for candidates still building their commercial driving credentials.
Which industries hire the most entry level fuel truck drivers?
Entry Level fuel truck driver roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Energy, and Food & Beverage, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors depend on reliable fuel distribution to power equipment, fleets, and facilities, creating consistent demand for entry level drivers who hold the required CDL and HazMat endorsement.
