Entry Level Production Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level production manager job?
Focus on demonstrating hands-on experience, even if it comes from internships, class projects, or volunteer coordination work. Employers at this level look for candidates who understand production workflows, can read schedules or bills of materials, and communicate clearly across teams. Certifications in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma fundamentals can give a junior candidate a concrete edge over others with similar backgrounds.
Which companies hire entry level production managers?
Companies hiring entry level production managers right now include Pilgrim's, The Fresh Market, and Georgia-Pacific, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers manufacturers, consumer goods companies, logistics operations, and media producers looking to develop junior talent into full production management roles.
Are there remote entry level production manager jobs?
Yes, though most production manager roles are on-site by nature. About 2% of entry level production manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to appear in digital media, software product operations, and content production rather than physical manufacturing environments.
Are these new grad production manager jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior production manager roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or co-op work as qualifying background, or explicitly invites candidates with a relevant degree and a strong portfolio in place of a full professional history.
Which industries hire the most entry level production managers?
Entry Level production manager roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, and Chemicals & Materials, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they run continuous production cycles and regularly build junior talent pipelines to fill supervisory gaps as experienced managers move up.
