NP Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a np job in Indianapolis?
The strongest path into Indianapolis np roles is through its large health systems, which run the most active hiring pipelines in the city. Concentrating your search on the IU Health, Eskenazi Health, and Franciscan Health networks gives you the broadest exposure to open positions. Candidates with specialty certifications in family practice, psychiatry, or acute care tend to move fastest in this market, where primary care and behavioral health demand is especially high.
Which companies hire nps in Indianapolis?
Companies currently hiring nps in Indianapolis include Indiana University Health, Community Health Network, and Ascension, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indianapolis draws from a mix of large academic medical centers, community health organizations, and multispecialty clinic groups, giving nps a range of practice environments to choose from.
Are there remote np jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though remote opportunities are limited for nps since the role is inherently hands-on and patient-facing. About 31% of np openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which is below average for professional roles. When remote work does appear, it tends to be in telehealth urgent care or care management positions rather than primary clinical practice.
How can I get a np job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is through new graduate residency and fellowship programs, several of which are offered by the city's major health systems. Community health centers and federally qualified health centers in Indianapolis also tend to hire new graduates at a higher rate than private practices. Targeting np roles within urgent care networks and retail clinic operators downtown can also provide early clinical hours and a foothold into Indianapolis's broader healthcare market.
Which industries hire the most nps in Indianapolis?
Most np openings in Indianapolis sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indianapolis's role as a major Midwest healthcare hub, anchored by academic medical institutions and a growing life sciences sector, drives consistent demand for nps across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
