Nursing Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a nursing job in Jacksonville?
Focus your search on Jacksonville's largest health systems and their affiliated outpatient networks, which generate the most consistent openings in the area. Southside and Riverside are the densest hiring corridors, while St. Johns County just south of the city adds growing ambulatory and specialty clinic demand. Candidates with acute care experience, a strong ACLS or specialty certification, and availability for nights or weekend rotations tend to move fastest through local hiring pipelines.
Which companies hire nursings in Jacksonville?
Employers hiring nursings in Jacksonville right now include Brooks Rehabilitation, BAPTIST Medical Center South, and Concorde Career Colleges, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's market is anchored by large regional health systems alongside VA facilities, behavioral health networks, and a growing number of outpatient and urgent care operators expanding across the metro.
Are there remote nursing jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though remote work is limited by nature for most nursing roles since patient care is hands-on and on-site. About 0% of nursing openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in roles such as utilization review, case management, and telehealth triage. Jacksonville's expanding insurance and managed care presence makes it a stronger-than-average market for those remote clinical and administrative nursing functions.
How can I get a nursing job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is applying to new-graduate residency programs offered through the major downtown and Southside health systems, which are structured specifically to bring RNs from licensure into acute care with structured mentorship. Surgical tech, patient care technician, and medical assistant roles at Jacksonville outpatient clinics also provide a practical bridge for those still building clinical hours toward full RN eligibility in the region.
