Responsible for the direction, supervision and evaluation of nursing care during hours of duty. Has responsibility for activities concerned with assigned personnel, for the evaluation of patient care, for equipment and supplies, and interdepartmental relations.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
- Assumes responsibility for the operational needs of the nursing division and for the nursing care delivered during the assigned shift

- Consults with patients/families through primary nurse request, direct family request, and/or direct assessment of patient/family response to hospitalization.

Resource Utilization
- Reports to work on time, prepared to work and follow hospital policies for notice of lateness/absenteeism and time off requests.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
BSN preferred
Experience
Five years recent clinical experience in relevant area of nursing practice. Previous nursing management experience preferred. Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency. Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills, ability to deal well with people, to problem solve, to confront/resolve issues, to motivate others, to plan, organize, and direct the activities of others.
LICENSURE
Current registration as RN in the state. BLS PALS ACLS
