Entry Level OB/GYN Physician Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level ob/gyn physician job?
Completing your residency in obstetrics and gynecology is the foundational requirement, but what sets entry level candidates apart is the depth of their clinical rotations, hands-on delivery and surgical experience, and strong letters of recommendation from attending physicians. Hospitals and practices hiring at this stage look for board eligibility, a valid medical license in the target state, and demonstrated competency in both routine and high-risk obstetric care.
Which companies hire entry level ob/gyn physicians?
Companies hiring entry level ob/gyn physicians right now include Optum, CommonSpirit Health, and MercyOne, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this level, hiring tends to come from hospital systems, multi-specialty group practices, federally qualified health centers, and women's health clinics actively building out their physician staff.
Are there remote entry level ob/gyn physician jobs?
Yes, though remote work is limited in this hands-on specialty and typically applies to roles like telehealth consultations or administrative physician positions rather than full clinical practice. About 2% of entry level ob/gyn physician openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, so most positions at this stage still require an on-site clinical presence.
Are these new grad ob/gyn physician jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior ob/gyn physician roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it explicitly welcomes zero to two years of post-residency experience, accepts candidates who are board-eligible rather than board-certified, or frames residency rotations and fellowship training as qualifying experience in place of independent practice history.
Which industries hire the most entry level ob/gyn physicians?
Entry Level ob/gyn physician roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they manage high patient volumes in women's health and reproductive care, creating consistent demand for newly trained physicians ready to step into clinical roles.
